I love the action taking place all across this photograph from the main players front and center to the action been recorded behind. The audience to the left are equally important and the fact the photographer has used a wide angle lens and great depth of field allows us the audience to really move around this wonderfully rich and complex image. It's great fun to be a spectator and I feel I am right their with the action. Superb.

This photograph is about color and V's. The shape of the headdresses, the v in the arms and again repeated within the dresses. We then have these wonderful colors against the warm glow of the walls mainly in shadow then a burst of light and blue from the column on the left of the image. The low camera angle adds to the drama and shows off the walls very well. Clean and a classic color photograph.

The light, the tight crop and beautiful hazy warm softness really adds to the dreamlike quality of this portrait of a couple lost in each others company and the moment of where they are. The photographer has managed to be completely invisible to the subjects which is a great skill and very rare that a subject is so comfortable that they forget your presence. This means you get to make great intense images like this. Very well done

This is a great example of why street photography is so popular. You never know what will present itself to you. The photographer has been ready and has caught a scene full of emotion across the whole frame. The young boys catching the bubbles, the trio of younger children catching the attention of the bubble maker. The child been held by a parent in the right side of the frame. So much to admire and a great example of what can happen if you can see a picture and have a camera with you. Great capture.

Great tight composition really draws all the attention onto the faces. I assume they are mother and daughters? The subtle muted colors work very well in relation to the greens in the background which then allows the blues of the tops they are wearing to stand out. This is a lovely family portrait that will look great in a frame on the wall in a home. A photograph to be proud of. Well done.

This is all about the positioning of the main 4 subjects, the wonderful colored hats they are wearing and the serene scene that they find themselves in and we the audience now find ourselves enjoying the view as well. Great use of composition placing the building to the right of them and positioning the backs of the 4 so close to the camera. Great use of depth of field and formal picture making really makes this picture sing.

I love the soft tones against the waves crashing into the shore. The inclusion of the horizon line really adds to the formal picture qualities of this photograph. The pose of the woman and the highlights on her legs and back shoulder work so well and give the image a real glow. She seems peaceful and these types of images really bring us the viewer into play. What is catching her attention? We will never know and that is the power of photography. Well done.

This is such a contemporary photograph. So many classic American photographers including Alec Soth's work in this manner. The muted colors, shallow depth of field then the pose which we the audience are nit quite sure what is happening. This ambiguity really adds to the drama of this image and how we respond to it. Wonderful.

A classic example of a close up side on portrait. Rich in its tonal quality which really draws us in. The use of shallow depth of field really keeps the attention on the persons stare and wonderful strands of hair. The tight framing works very well as does the grey background. This is a simple let stunning portrait. Dignified and elegant.

This is a well considered and constructed photograph. The tight framing works well as does the decision to place the subjects within each others facial frame. The deliberate chose of them wearing similar tops and hair down is wonderful. It maybe a cliche but I am not sure which is the daughter and which is the mother. A lovely photograph that works well in black and white and a classic pose. Well done.

This is a stunningly judged photograph. Great composition from the elevated position the photographer has chosen. The timing with the man just about to leap into the water is excellent as is the use of the entire frame filled with people. The light is lovely with a warm glow and the lighter tones on the bodies work well against the darker background. This has a painterly quality to it and it's such a great image to look at. A worthy winner. Well done.

This is such a fun photograph and not easy to get two young boys to pose like this. You have to see a photograph like this then have the ability to make it happen. The reflections in the water on the table works perfectly and the neutral colors within the entire scene really draws us to the eyes. This will make a wonderful image framed in the homes of these families. Lovely

Everything about this image works so very well. The high key tones are lovely and complements the cobbles in the road to the crumples in the jacket. The pose is great as the women seems to be both posing and startled by the cameras presence at the same time. The real star is the ladies expressive expression on her face. This is a timeless portrait like a classic French image from the early part of the 20th Century. Well done. Great capture.

Fun. This photograph makes me laugh and smile along with the lady in the picture. The high contrast black and white works well and really adds drama to the photograph. The positioning to the right of the main subject allows us to enjoy the palm trees and port setting. The rail in the foreground really takes our eye to the action and the ladies wonderful infectious laugh. Great exposure and an overall fantastic photograph.

A great example of a street photograph. The photographer has done everything right. Gone up close to seek permission and get approval from the sitter. The closeness allows the camera to pick out this amazing face in great detail and then the warm color palate works from the subject to the background. Overall a great street portrait.
