The personality of this lady is written all over her face. The wonderful glow from the smile is complemented by the most amazing colors in her top and hood. The closeness of the lens means that the lady really takes center stage against the blurred background. but the background really plays its part in this image and the darkness allows us to see the slanted rain falling onto her and caught in the hood of her jacket. The grey strands of hair also work so well against the skin. A wonderful capture of a stunning lady.

Summer days. The soft golden light works so well in this scene. The photographers positioning to include the out of focus flowers in the foreground really draws our attention to the couple sitting on the elevated hill. We get a sense of what they are looking at but don't get to see the dip in front of them. The colors across the scene compliment each other and the light coming across from the top left side really gives that sense of warmth. It would have been easy to get flare in this picture but the photographer has been careful and considerate to really understand how to make the best possible image of this scene. Very well done.

The photographer has been very careful to give equal balance between the two main subjects in this picture. The two people and the tree they are photographing. The highly saturated but muted colors are very fashionable at the moment with many great photographers exploring this technique including Robbie Lawrence and Christopher Anderson. The decision to have everything in focus works very well and this is also a great example of the quality of phone cameras and always been ready to make that great image. Well done.

The concentration is etched all over this gentleman's face even though we cannot fully see it. We get to see what he sees from his painting on the easel and the line of trees really leads our eye out of the frame and allows us to think about the area that he paints. The lovely blues in the sky work well with his jacket and the painting. Overall a really nice photograph whilst passing by. Well done.

A poignant photograph that really captures the mood of a nation and a moment in time. The expression on the mans face tells its own story and we feel his pain and sense of loss. The choice to use black and white seems fitting for the moment and the simple T-Shirt he wears tells us the audience what we are witnessing. I suspect even without the head wear and top we could guess what event this is from his facial expression, body language and the famous gates of Buckingham Palace behind. A special moment in time and a great capture.

The first thing is to credit the photographers awareness of knowing the complexities of documenting those less fortunate than most. In this case the image offers up so much more than us just looking at someone who could be homeless or unwell. The facial expressions on all the faces works so well and its an indication that though this is the first time the photographer have tried street photography to my eye they are well suited to the genre and should continue. The use of black and white adds grit and drama to the image and the shadowy figures in the background add an additional presence to the scene. Very well framed and a stunning image. Well done and keep going.

A real candid capture and shows that the photographer had there eyes open and ready for action. The ability to make this image is not easy and the photographer has shown there skill in capturing this decisive moment in the city where that technique originated from by the great Henri Cartier-Bresson. The elevated camera position shows the person perfectly within the urban setting behind them and the use of a wide aperture allows us the audience to see exactly where it is and gives a sense of scale within the entire frame. A great capture.

This is an image that you dream about but actually making it is another thing. Everything about this stunning photograph works. The elevated camera position looking down, The silhouetted lone figure in the foreground, the wonderful narrow street against the buildings and then the added extra, the rain captured perfectly using a fast shutter speed just adds that wow factor. The use of Black and White adds that drama and grit that really elevates this image. A truly stunning capture and worthy winner. Congratulations.

This was so close to my top 10 and their is a lot to like about this photograph. The sense of movement is perfectly captured by the photographer and use of slow shutter speed to create this swirl around the image. The pops of color especially on the central area of the lady in red really works well and focuses our attention. If she was sharp then this really would have been higher up in the list but that is a minor point. A great image.

A really strong visual portrait that works very well. Its almost monochromatic in its tonal range except for the pop of red in the background. The stare on the young girl direct to camera is mesmerizing and the catch lights in the eyes really add depth to the image whilst also giving us a glimpse of the photographer. It really is that sharp and perfect for it. Great portrait.

A lovely photograph. It's full of warmth and charm. The photographer has caught perfectly the timing when the small child throws the stones into the water and they are easily seen against the light sky background. The exposure is spot on and not easy with so much light around the subject so well done. The muted colors and soft light really adds to the dreamy quality of the photograph. A picture to be proud of and a great capture

This is all about color and formal picture making skills. The photographer has shown a real understanding of how a frame works. The two women sitting in the doorway which is perfectly positioned within the frame creating a frame within a frame. The vibrant clothes work so well against the brown of the door and the decision to place the ladies at the bottom of the picture works very well in giving a sense of scale in the photograph. A stunning street portrait. Well done.

A lovely sign of affection that has been caught wonderfully by the photographer whose presence is not noticeable from the facial gestures on the individuals in the picture. This is not an easy thing to do, be almost invisible especially so close up. Well done. The soft lighting created by the diffused window light works well and the hand softened by the net curtain really adds an air of mystery and allure to the picture. Its perfectly positioned and really makes the photograph. Great image.

A photograph that breaks the rules and in doing so gives extra punch and power to this already strong graphic portrait. It would have been easy to place the horizon line straight but by tilting the camera the photographer has made a dramatic image. The added grain works very well and is even across the frame and the positioning of the model so close to the lens creates a strong balance between her and the rocks and cliff in the background.. What I really like is that she is in the shade but very well exposed against the highlights in the sky and cliff face. A powerful and dramatic portrait.

The framing of the father and child against this wonderful green lush background work very well together. The colors complement each other from the greens to the beige clothes that are the same as the coloring of the rock they stand on. The decision by the photographer to place them on the rock elevates and separates the subjects from the background to great effect and really makes them stand out. The poses are wonderful and the maroon umbrella fills the frame so well. A very skilled and controlled portrait. Well done.
