I'd love to see what she sees. What makes this image really stand out is the vivid red of the dress against the pinks of the building she leans against. The shoes perfectly placed just add that extra formal picture element within the frame that really adds that something special to the overall picture. It's a great candid photograph that would grace the pages of any top magazine. Well done.

Amazing light really elevates this picture as do the clothes that the children are wearing. It could be a scene from the film The Sound of Music. The expressions on the faces are really wonderful and we can learn so much from reading them. The confidence of the two older boys looking direct to camera, the smirk of the girl to the far left then the little girl on the right seeing what the others are doing. Then the wonderful two together looking at each other one for guidance the other making sure he is O.K. Lovely. The muted colors set within the warm light work well as does the red tint coming into shot in the top left corner. The shallow depth of field means we concentrate our attention on the children. A wonderful setting and beautiful portrait of a extended family. A picture to cherish and worthy winner. Well done.

Great positioning by the photographer to really set this picture up and make it stand out from the crowd. The detail is wonderful from the boys expression as the water hits the face to capturing the water as it cascades into shot. The darkened background works well against the skin tones and makes both the facial expression and water stand out even more. The tight crop ensures we concentrate on the face. A fun image. It depicts what children love to do. Play and be imaginative. Great capture. Well done.

A wonderfully nostalgic photograph that really fits into a time long gone. The pose is wonderful with the mans arm resting over his friends shoulder. We get a real sense of camaraderie within this picture whilst also revealing the hard work these men undertook. The contrast works well and the expression on the mans face with his hand held across is so effective. The use of film gives that quality of the grain as does the black and white film used. It reminds me of the classic projects done in the 60 and 70s in the UK around Coal Mines and families. This is wonderful and I hope you have more.Great capture.

The soft colors work so well and act to balance out the composition which is a classic with the single person placed to the left of center within the frame. The shallow depth of field gives us enough information to see everything but concentrate on the man. The photographer has gone in close to what feels like a candid portrait and because of this we get an authentic overview of this person at work within his environment. Its a lovely picture. Well done.

This photograph really jumps out at you. The vibrant colors which are beautifully controlled by the photographer and the close crop means all our attention is centered around the wonderful ladies face and then the mirroring of colors in her clothes and the spices, herbs, dyes all around her. They really do stand out and make for a great controlled portrait. Lovely photograph.

Who hasn't wanted to sit on a fighter jet whilst watching fireworks? This is a great capture and so well controlled. The exposure is spot on which is not easy with the different conditions going on in the scene. The low camera angle works well and the firework displays have been captured perfectly. All I can think of is the film Top Gun. This is great.

Mates together. I love the sharpness of the image and the contrast from the black and white. What really stands out to me is the photographers ability to capture the right moment when all the men have wonderfully different expressions on the faces and are looking in different directions. It shows great ability to make a candid photograph so close to the action and not be visible by the subjects. I want to share in with maybe the joke. What is for sure they all seem so happy. A delightful group portrait. Well done

So much drama in a single image. The quality of light is excellent with the dark brooding sky, the colors on the school building echo that in both the sky and the grass to the right of the building. I love the line the children take as they almost snake their way out of class. Occasionally we see a child looking back maybe to see where a friend is. The use of a wide angle lens allows us to see the positioning of the school and where it is situated within the space. This works very well as does the saturated colors within the frame. Great capture.

This is a lovely honest straight forward portrait. It's power is in the ease in which the photographer has managed to make this subject seem so relaxed and comfortable in order to take such a picture. It's not easy when you are this close to the subject. The light on the face is very good with the highlights brighter on one side, The shallow depth of field means we focus on him and the eyes are really sharp. The use of black and white allows us to just concentrate on the wonderful formal arrangement of this picture. Well done.

A wonderful portrait. At first it feels confrontational but the more we look we can see the mutual respect between subject and photographer. This is a great skill to be able to put a subject at ease and this portrait demonstrates the skill of the photographer both in communication and also in making a striking picture. The close crop works well as does the use of shallow depth of field. The black and white tones are superb and just on the warm side. The exposure is spot on and gives us all the information in the top and face that really brings the image alive. A great example of a very high quality documentary photograph.

This is such an intriguing photograph. A lot of thought and consideration and preparation has gone into this before the shoot began. I always admire photographers that have that ability to plan a shoot then be able to execute to such a high standard which is the case here. The colors are translucent and are echoed in the reflected swirling sky and leaves and branches. The facial expression and delicate placement of the hands works so well and the fact she looks directly at us means we have to look back. It could be inspired by Hamlet. What is for sure its a great image. Very well done.

This really did need the elevated camera position to be able to take in the complex arrangements within the image. We now get to see the environment in which these Dye pits are placed which offers a sense of the density of the city and the hard work that these workers go through each day. The muted colors work so well and the use of a wide angle view allows us to take in all the information. A photograph that would work in any top quality travel journal or magazine. Great capture

So simple and I bet so fun to do. The little girl seems to be having a wonderful time. The soft black and white tones work well with the subject as does the shallow depth of field used. We get to focus on the wonderful lines in the leaf which are echoed by the shapes on the dress she wears. It has a nostalgic feel to the picture and all the better for that as it has lasting appeal. Lovely
