This is a lovely group portrait with a couple of the boys in the background looking into the frame with the others looking out of shot. The use of a shallow depth of field with the focus correctly positioned on the small girl in the foreground works really well as does her stare out and wonderful hand position. The colors are correctly balanced and not over saturated so that we have a real life feel to the photograph. This is a sensitive and beautifully taken image by a photographer who is aware of the curiosity of the subject. Well done.

The tight crop really makes this image. The decision to work in Black and White brings focus to the subject without the distraction of color that would have been marked on the helmut. We get a sense of the intensity of the sport even though this is a non action sports photograph. The light on the football is very good. If I could change anything it would be to maybe add a little more light on the face but thats a minor point. A great capture.

The close up really makes this a striking photograph to view. The models face is perfectly framed within the mirror and echoed by her hair which falls around the edges. The stare out of camera gives an intensity and the eyes are clean and the red lipstick gives a feel of a hollywood femme fatale. An alluring photograph that showcases great technique and a very good eye for detail. Well done.

This is a photograph that shows the power of team sports and the camaraderie which they are all about. The framing is very good between the two subjects and we can only imagine the conversation they are having. The colors are well controlled as are the greens which can be sometimes over processed in digital software. The only thing I would change is removing the feet of the two players in the top left of the corner. Try placing a thumb over them and look what it does to the image. I think it makes it stronger but regardless its a lovely photograph.

Most photographers would have been content to just photograph the stunning landscape of Skye. If we take the person out of the frame we would have a beautiful landscape where we would be discussing the quality of the framing and the use of light and shadow detail, we can still do that but this image has been moved into a different genre by the inclusion of the jumping person captured mid flight within the frame. The pose is superb and really fits into the space between the cliffs and sea and sky, the warm colors of the orange jacket just add that pop of colour that would have been missing without it and really makes the person stand out. Great technique and capture. Wonderful photograph.

A great stylish capture with clean lines and a strong pose. The model owns the space she inhabits and has clearly followed the photographers directions. The sharpness on her face is excellent and the way the lines of the seats just flow around her means we are taken into the shot. The neutral tones are lifted by the warm strong hair coloring and this really gives the image its sense of focus. A powerful image that works between editorial fashion and a style campaign. Well done.

This is such a well constructed image. Everything the photographer has done has made the photograph better. The choice of a high camera angle looking down, the very clever placement of the rectangle of light within the larger frame, the waiting for the right person to enter into the shot and then the perfect timing to make such a photograph. On top of all this the superb skill to control the exposure so that we see detail both in the highlights and the shadows which given the subject is not an easy feat. Well done. The use of subtle color works well and overall this is a wonderfully seen and controlled photograph and a fine example of candid street photography at its best.

This could be a high end fashion shot rather than two friends walking in the rain in London. The poses offer that casual dismissive look that is so popular in contemporary street fashion as is the mix and match of clothes they both wear. The low camera angle really accentuates the full body poses and the fact that they are in the middle of the road in Soho is in itself a minor miracle without getting hit by a car. The muted colors work well against the murky weather conditions and the naturalness of the poses adds that friendly feel to the image. A great photograph.

The expresion on the little girls face is warm and wonderful. I love the fact that she looks at her mothers? face rather than the amazing pregnancy bump which we would expect and the photograph is all the stronger for this. The details in her face are strong as is the lovely catchlight in her eye and the greens in both tops they wear. The tight crop and stunning lighting really do give a sense of a photographer in full control. A fantastic and unique image of a well photograph subject. Great technique and capture.

I love the dynamism and surreal feel of the photographic poster placed against the reality of life on the street. This juxtaposition created by the photographer has allowed for a great formal photograph where the two main elements work so well together. It would have been easy for the photographer to over saturate the colors given the vibrancy of the poster but by using a color palate that works for the man on his phone we get a photograph that exists within the real world and how we see it.. The sign to the bottom left of the image 'Please ring for assistance' just adds that little extra. Maybe the man is infact calling. We will never know. Fantastic capture.

The photographer has really worked hard to make sure this is a powerful and impactful image. The exposure is excellent as it would have been easy to silhouette the four figures against the brighter background. The use of a wide angle lens really allows us to get a sense of the space the subjects are in and making the image black and white fits in with the contrasts between the figures and the structure. This photograph also talks about ideas of isolation and how we work in a space. Together we communicate but in isolation we turn to our phones. This is a wonderful formal image and a comment on social behaviour. Really well done.

This is a really interesting photograph. We get a sense of the view that they are looking at from the mountain range that the photographer has included within the frame but we don't get to see the real view that is keeping the people occupied in shot. We never will. We also really get a preview of how we/people tend to experience things. I love the man in the foregeround who is previewing his digital image of what we assume is of the view he has just photographed. That is how we all experience culture and beauty today. Through the back of a phone or digital viewfinder or screen. We check to see if we have it then move on.This is a lovely capture with great exposure and a photograph that asks questions. Well done.

The low camera position really gives a sense of scale and perspective to this wonderful capture. It's a great editorial portrait that stands out from the crowd. The subtle mono tones work well for the subject and old stone walls of the out of focus buildings which create a natural funnel for the main subject. The real highlight are the poses especailly of the dog. It's quite incredible to get the animal to pose in such a stylish manner. It reminds me of the dog from the HMV logo. A well considered and executed picture. Well done.

This is a classic pose of a young woman set within the grass. The above camera angle works well and gives us the viewer a sense of perspective. The pinks in the dress and patterns really lift the image as do the blue flowers within the frame. The stare into camera offers a real life view of a contemporary woman rather than the usual whimsical 'Ophelia' pose we often get so well done to the photographer. The highlights are really well controlled and we are left with a photograph we keep on looking at.

Pure joy on the girls faces that has been wonderfully captured and well thought out by the photographer. The low camera angle allows us to take in the full splendour of the view behind them and show the fun they are having creating this fantatsic pose for the camera. The colors all complement each other and the full foreground to background focus means we see everything in complete clarity. A photograph I'm sure the girls will cherish of a wonderful day and memory. Lovely
