This is a sweet portrait and interesting framing, with the wide framing, it looks like a scene from a memory you've recreated here. You've captured a moment which feels special, and the contrast in light. I'd suggest editing out grey edging for a more impactful effect.

Zimbadayo - I want to highly credit this portrait for its tech efforts, the positioning here with your model, really suits this direction of lighting. The silhouette is evident with the highlights of your models’ features. Great gradient tonals’ too!

The love of my life - This is a majestic scene you have captured with your subject matter. I feel the lighting is your main take away both in the foreground and back. I would suggest editing out the building for an uninterrupted look.

Thank you for submitting this photo to this contest, great subject captured and colour tones with the landscape and striking orange. The positioning of your model within the full frame, adds impact. This is great documentary photography, keep practising this style!

Congratulations! This portrait immediately caught my eye, your attention to detail is key here and composition is very successful. Looking at your production details, your aperture is low given how much of the portrait is lit. Keep up this style of portraiture!

I commend your high production use for the result of this image, studio lights, professional model and props to amplify the direction of your silhouette theme. Well done, it’s theatrical and could be experimented further in another style of prop usage.

How adorable! I appreciate the angle taken here, it feels such a natural approach to portrait photography and creates a warm narrative, especially with the subject. Your production details are interesting, I believe if you lower your ISO this will create more depth.

I like the cinematic value this landscape shows, heavy street style lighting featured with fits really well in this contest. I’d suggest editing the contrast of the model slightly lighter and the ground darker to balance this all out. Well done!

A great portrait that focuses on both stillness and movement, you’ve captured your model at a good angle where her face is in focus and recognisable in a wave of motion blur with the waves. Try shooting this in black & white, the quality would be incredible.

Congratulations! This landscape portrait is an excellent entry, a really great capture in a social and sports documentary context. Well done on your experimentation in post-production here, using the adjusting is a great way to measure this style of editing.

I’ve chosen this image to review to further commend your use of layers and balance of light in this portrait. There is a clinical approach in this, but it doesn’t overcrowd the overall purpose of the image. I feel the hands really connect the view to the portrait.

Thank you for entering this contest! I found your image very reminiscent of traditional painting portraits, your model is posed classically within the landscape. Why this references art history is how you’ve left a great amount of space for perspective from said model. Good job!

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘People’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. They can be entered by anyone within their first 28 days of joining Photocrowd. After 100 images have been submitted the contest closes and the Crowd will start rating the images. The Expert Judge will also be judging the images and writing reviews at the same time. All the winners, both Crowd and Expert, will be announced after 3 days of judging. Make sure you also check out our two other New Joiners contests - ‘Animals’ and ‘Landscapes’.

The Devil comes to Bristol - The tonal's here are really good and focal point is your most successful take away here. However, I feel you need to extend the orange visual, as the black line looks like a slow shutter, well done!

Thank you for submitting this photo to this contest, great subjects captured, and I want to highly credit this portrait for its lighting efforts. I can imagine you used speed lights within this setting, you've measured this successfully by keeping the backlight visible.
