Excellent photograph in the tradition of a 'documentary' approach. Looking through a hatch/doorway creates an inspired and well-conceived composition. The timing is spot on, too with the sideways glance of the noodle chef perfectly captured. The handling of the black-and-white tones has been sensitively controlled and harmonises with the subject matter.
This is a bold and striking band image, oozing with cool, grainy, gritty, and chaotic overtones. The double exposure added to this and was an inspired creative move. It is not easy with film, as the elements are less predictable and, consequently, more enjoyable - when they work, which, in this case, they do!
Excellent use of lighting in a controlled studio environment. The lighting has beautifully enhanced and teased out the toned body shapes. The sense of quiet contemplation in the subject's downcast gaze speaks to the story behind the photo - reflecting on the previous day's body-building competition.
A clever and creative capture of human presence in an architectural space. Together, the elements make a compelling and engaging street-style photo. The black and white tones have been skillfully controlled, and the composition is beautifully balanced. The little touch of movement in the cyclist is the icing on the cake.
