This image just expresses pure joy. We can't help but smile when we take a look at this infectious portrait of the girl dressed in this amazing colorful costume. Great technique by the photographer to isolate her from the background and the tight crop means we really get to see that smile and details in what she is wearing. The soft muted colors allow for the whole scene to work so that not one area stands out so we get to enjoy the entire picture in one take. Really lovely and such fun. Well done.

Images like this really take us the viewer on a journey. We can get lost in our own thoughts whilst really enjoying the image we are looking at. The soft tones with the muted sun hiding behind the fog is beautifully placed within the frame with the reflection echoed in the water. The pose of the man with his hand up to his eyes looking out into the large water ahead really allows us to follow the frame and this is what brings us into the scene. A really evocative image. Well done.

The low camera angle really gives the man gravitas within the frame and this is then accentuated by the leading lines within the path that take our eye straight to him then beyond to the building in the background.. The subtle colors are well controlled given the harsh lighting conditions and the patterns within the path and building really complement each section together. A lovely image which would work really well in a travel guide or in the pages of National Geographic

We feel the exuberance and excitement within the picture from the wonderful facial expression on the face of the woman in full dance mode. The colors works so well and are so vibrant and controlled by the photographer. It would have been easy to go over the top in post production but these really do look natural for the situation. Great capture and timing and the real star for me is the contrast between the lady dancing lost in her own world and the expression on the other lady in the background. The difference between the two is caught perfectly by the photographer. Priceless. Well done.

This is a great example of a candid street photograph. armed with a camera it is not easy to make this type of image. It takes great skill and some nerve to get this close to the subject. The positioning of the lady to the left of the image works well as our eye is then taken into the rest of the frame. The light on her hand and face really accentuate the fingers and the cigarette in her mouth. The sharpness on her is then amplified by the shallow depth of field used to blur the background so the red coat stands out even more and that single red light in the right side works well taking our eye from that to the coat and back. Great capture.

It could be scene out of Harry Potter. Great capture using wonderful light to accentuate the girls eyes and the framing is excellent using the book to mask parts of her face. The central placement around the books works really well and i have to really look hard to see how the image was made given the way the books are arranged all around her. The use of black and white works well with the lighting set up which adds that sinister spooky feel to the whole picture. Well done.

Such a lovely portrait of two children playing together. The quality of light and the unusual overhead angle really make this picture stand out from the usual images we get of children. The colors are well controlled and the saturation adds a warmth to the picture which is very pleasing to the eye and really makes the children stand out against the darker background colors. I love the trainers just to the right in the corner. These little details really make the image. Superb capture and a fantastic photograph to have in any portfolio. Well done.

The attention to detail from the water spilling out of the carriers to the full silhouette shielding the face really make this image stand out. The way the background softly relates to the harsher dark foreground works really well and is perfectly set. The quality of post production is very high and the level of sharpness is very well judged. This is a photograph that tells a story and has flawless technique. Wonderful.

A great garb shot and really tells us where the future of photography could be going for this type of image. The phone camera offers such access and invisibility to subjects it would be hard to make a photograph like this without specialist equipment in the past. I love the low camera angle and the way the water is engulfed all around the subject. The light on the torso works so well against the blues in the sky. Regardless of equipment you need a good eye and well done to this photographer who certainly has one. Great capture

The attention to details really makes this image stand out. The sharpness and clarity across the entire frame means we see the stunning gold threads in the hat against the details in the white T-shirt which is very well exposed against the dark background. The catch lights in the eyes mean this photograph was taken by a really accomplished photographer who understands technique and framing as seen in this image. The tight crop and placing the subject to the right of the frame with their stare going out of camera shows a deep understanding of the medium. Well done.

A stunning observational photograph that encapsulates life in a city. The photographer has done an amazing job in isolating the central figure in the sunglasses looking at camera with his daughter on his shoulders. It's incredible technique given the sheer amount of people in shot that our eye goes straight to this duo using a long lens and narrow aperture to really focus on them. Really well judged post production in working the colors and this image really does meet the brief - People. Stunning. Great capture.

This feels like a spontaneous photograph until I start to really look at the details. The quality of light on her face and legs, the way she is posed with the apples in her hands and the clothes she is wearing. This is a precise image that has been considered beautifully by the photographer. The placement next to a darker background, the low camera position and the wonderful top she is wearing that works so well next to the apples in the tress. All very clever and contemporary. This works as both a high end editorial image and a personal fashion photograph. Well done.

Classic lines throughout this beautifully constructed image. The sleek lines of the classic VW Beetle work well with the girl posed across the front seats. The quality of light really shapes the entire frame and the darkened black background allows us the viewer to really appreciate the main details within the picture. I see so many human statue images but very rarely are they this good and considered. I know Florence and given the amount of tourists in every location I know how hard it is to make an image like this. The photographer has isolated the human statue from the crowds no doubt all round this area very well. The tight crop gets close to the person and their background which is then farmed next to a real building. The color scheme runs beautifully across the entire frame and the attention to detail and focus on the person allows us to really melt into the image. A unique take on a known subject. Really well done. Great considered photograph.

Children are always hard to work with especially in groups but this photographer has blended the perfect mix of documentary and posed styles to create an electric mix that really shows the energy and unity of the kids in the picture. The use of black and white adds that feel of a traditional documentary approach especially with the grain and high contrast. This works so well and I'm sure all the boys will cherish this image for years to come. Great capture.
