A stunning and well produced photograph that showcases the photographers talents as an image maker and in the subtle post production techniques used. The golden glow and light on the man's face really lifts this image especially against the darker background. The use of shallow depth of field allows the audience to spend time on his face, with him staring out of the frame it feels like a restful photograph and the subtle colors of his top work so well within the overall setting.. A great capture and a picture that really stands out.

Soft and subtle greys have been used to create this powerful but delicate close up of this dancer. It is this crop which isolates them within the frame and makes that stare to camera even more intense. The soft light on the face just glows and it is hard to look away from the intensity of the person looking directly at the audience. A great capture. well done.

The powerful stare seem to work in opposition to the softness and positioning of the arms and hands. Their is a delicacy to this picture which works so well and this is added to by the use of the soft light and wonderful tonal range in the face and top the model wears. The soft shadows that come across the background add dimensions and space to the photograph and the positioning of the girl to the left of the frame allows our eye to move with hers across and out of shot. A really lovely portrait. Well done.

The positioning of the people within the frame and the high camera viewpoint has that feel of the classic street pictures taken in the early part of the 20th Century in Europe. The way the lady in the right hand corner with hand raised looks onto the scene is wonderful as is the positioning of the older man and two silhouetted individuals placed within the center of the frame. The use of light and shadows is well controlled and really gives depth to this image and the subtle tonal range and overall framing is excellent. Well done.

This has a real sense of nostalgia. This comes from the square crop, and reminds me of the polaroids that I used to take in a different time. The subject and crop have that wonderful snap like quality which works so well in this picture. The highly saturated tones on the face and that pink flower that just adds that extra lift to the entire image. A lovely candid picture of youthfulness. Well done.

The composition is superb between the men in the frame and their positioning against the building. Its a classic almost two thirds rule and it works so well in this formal photograph. The subtle tonal range of colors works for the subject and the way the photographer has captured the men all looking in different directions seemingly lost in their own thoughts is brilliant timing. If anything given that the exposure is perfect I would have just lightened the image in processing, just a little so it glowed. A minor point and overall a great capture.

The tight crop really adds to the suspense of this capture. In what looks like a simple image to make is anything but when we consider the subject matter and angle the photographer has got into to make this image, The position straight onto the subject really gives us a sense of what the couple are doing and have done in climbing this rock face within the sea. The warm light works well in highlighting them and the rock against the pale sea and horizon line. A stunning capture.

An image of contrasts. The photographer has really worked hard to get what at first glance looks like maybe a simple picture to take. The scaling between the lady in red and the painting works so well as does the straight line between the floor and wall and her positioning between both visuals works really well. The striking red outfit she wears adds punch and dimension to the picture and that sense of what she must be thinking is in the back of my mind. Well done.

The highly saturated colors work really well against the background and separates the colorful display of the people away from the van and building in the background and it is this stark difference which really makes these individuals come alive in this fun and well controlled picture. The use of shallow depth of field means we the audience first concentrate our stare on the two at the front of the line before slowly working our gaze across the frame. The tight crop frames the dancers and the attention to detail and sharpness in the couple to the left really makes this picture come alive. Well done.

A study in concentration. The photographer has got in close to take this powerful candid portrait. The use of black and white and wonderful tonal range has produced a lovely and subtle image of a young person engrossed in what they are doing so much so that they do not notice the presence of the camera.. Well done and not an easy thing to achieve. The angle looking down allows for more of the background to be placed in frame so we get to see these wonderful shapes on the floor tiles that work in tandem with the shapes all around the child in the clothes and what they are making. Great capture. Well done.

A lovely captured study of concentration. Everything seems to be in pairs, the two playing chess, the two extra chairs empty and the couple walking past. The use of soft black and white tones works well so that the chess board is easily seen against the darker background of the flower wall.. A classic documentary image and well done for seeing this and then making such a great photograph.

Great framing and use of a tight drop has really elevated this image into a wonderful study of in this case a grandfather working. The background has been well controlled so not to obstruct our real enjoyment looking at him taking a sip or drink. The subtle but deep black and whites really add depth to this image in what is a fantastic study and would form a powerful continued document on this person individual If the photographer so wished. Great capture.

The photographer have placed themselves in the perfect position to capture this great sports shot of runners. We get to see the concentration on the faces and what's really interesting is where they look. They all focus on different areas which I did not know.. Only the runner in green seems to have spotted the camera lens as they look towards us. The tight composition really focuses all our attention on the main subjects and the focus is spot on which is not easy when they are on the move. Great capture.

The low camera angle and use of contrast really make this gritty street scene come alive. The use of black and white adds to the drama and gives a sense of the shapes that are everywhere in this picture. It has a strong documentary feel and the relationship between the two main subjects work so well against the buildings in the background. The exposure is well controlled and the timing capturing both men in movement is excellent especially when placed next to the stop sign. A really well produced and seen street photograph.Great capture.
