I love the quietness of this image. It feels peaceful and calming. It really draws me in and I can imagine the silence only broken by a bird going by or the occasional persons voice. The composition works really well as we get to see both the detail the lady is concentrating her drawing on but also the drawing itself starts to be revealed. The warm glow on the side of the face is lovely against the shadow of the stonework. The exposure is perfect and I only wish I could read what they have written but sometimes things are meant to be private. A really lovely capture.

A unique angle of view gives us the viewer a different way of looking at this image. We often see overhead images but they tend to be of spaces not people so it is refreshing to see this vibrant portrait of best friends relaxing on the water. The intensity of bright colors against the darkened sea works incredibly well and the way their arms are out stretched and nearly touching gives the feel of a fashion shoot. It really is a powerful image that once I look at it, I cant stop looking at it. Stunning. Really well done. A great capture.

The framing and how the model has been positioned work so well against the building. The use of black and white accentuates the graphic lines in both her pose and the panels behind her. The light on body really makes her stand out against the darker background and it is this difference that works so well. A lovely capture. It would make a great series of images.

A really superb top 10 and this wonderful image captured in Hanoi really stood out for its complex juxtapositions, incredible technique and those colors jump off the screen. The ability by the photographer to get all the highlights under control then expose beautifully for the shadow details where we can still easily see the man in the background sat down under the Homefarm sign really is something special. The strong reds complement the darker areas within the frame and the man playing the instrument to the left of center looking directly at camera gives the image a human feel. A stunning constructed image. Would fit into the pages of National Geographic very well. Congratulations.

We will never know what is being painted but we can imagine the scene as the phootgrapher has given us a glimpse of the setting. The way the light comes into the frame from the top right corner is lovely and creates this dream like vista. I love the way the younger person could maybe be asleep. Is it his grandfather he is with, a day out together perhaps. This image offers up so many ways to understand and read this picture. It is both beautifully composed and complex. The different styles of clothes they both wear contrast well against each other and talk about age. Such a lovely, quiet moment. It takes me to other places in my mind and that's a sign of a great image.

A powerful portrait of a young child. Are they running away from something or towards someone? The use of black and white makes this image timeless. It could have been taken fifty years ago except for the small indicators like the modern trainers they wear. The high contrast works well especially in the background and the expression on the face is haunting. A stunning image and I wish I could know more about what is happening. A superb capture.

Great composition and framing really add to the enjoyment of this image and the reflections through the window work really well. The tight crop allows us to focus on the main elements within the picture and the subtle colors especially on the girls hair against the darker background add a painterly feel to the image. Great use of space and the photographer has done really well to position themselves so that the people in shot really move around the space and that we can see them all doing these little wonderful details, like looking on a phone, having a conversation or taking a picture out of the window. The use of black and white works well within the architecture of the building. A great capture.

The vibrant colors are only one part of this image that really stands out from the crowd. It's a grab shot but the way the three individuals have reacted to the camera is incredible. They have gone full pose and it is a wonderful capture. The photographer has made the image at just the right time. Three unique poses in one frame and the tight crop really takes us the viewer into the photograph. This could be a high end fashion campaign image. Such a lovely and well balanced environmental portrait. The camera position just behind the tree really frames the individual and background perfectly and the green colors combine to work very well with the snowy backdrop. The warm facial expression gives us a comforting feeling in what must be a very cold place to take this picture. The composition works so well, with the camera at a elevated position that allows us to see the background and how that works with the main subject. Its a lovely image that really draws me in. This was so close to my top 10. The composition and framing are wonderful. The hand placed on the child's arm is warm and protecting and the facial expressions look out of the frame offer different readings within the image. Who are they looking at or what. The subtle colors are beautiful and work well across both the quality of light and the clothes that they wear. My only issue and it is such a small thing. The focus on the girls face could be a little sharper. It doesn't effect how i enjoy the image. Just lovely. These siblings would make a lovely continued body of work. Well done.

A really well seen photograph and a great capture. The subtle colors work all over this picture from the details in the mans top to the way the warm light in the background is echoed in the bread I assume he is selling. The soft fall off of focus into the blurred background feels gradual and appropriate for this scene. A wonderful example of a candid street portrait. It works really well because of how the person fits so well into the space. Superb. Well done.

The photographers decision to turn this into a black and white image really pays off. The tonal range is excellent and the intensity on the boys faces really electrifies this photograph. The sharpness stands out and draws us in. It could be an album cover for an indie band or an incredible unique and different take on a family album style image. The crop is perfect and the boy staring into camera really draws our attention then our eye drifts over to the other boy. Superb. Really well done. A great portrait.
