This bold, confident and striking composition uses lines and unusual angles to great effect. The photographer's choice of a high vantage point looking down on the scene was inspired and adds to the story; the muted colours of the concrete stairwell are lovely, too.

I love the cool vibe that oozes out of this striking and accomplished portrait. The colour palette of green and blue hues and a muted tonality add to the gritty atmosphere. The confident pose and camera angle, along with the (literal) tongue-in-cheek and to the narrative.

A wide aperture (f2/8) has been skillfully used to create a shallow depth of field and blur the foreground figures. These figures have also created a lovely frame for the main character. Both these factors make an engaging portrait with depth.

This image has a wonderful painterly quality. The file's low-fi, gritty quality and exquisite colour palette contribute to this. The emptiness of the composition has been artfully considered, helping create a film-esque atmosphere loaded with narrative. Good work, keep it up!

People at work can often make engaging portraits, as with this wonderfully atmospheric image from Vietnam. The tricky lighting conditions have been skillfully handled, capturing detail where it's needed without killing the atmosphere. It looks like a relatively high ISO of 2000 helped with this. Good work.

What a charming, uplifting, and delightful image. The bond between the subject and the animal is lovely. The lighting, camera angle (with the tilted horizon), and the direction of the subject's gaze help create a dynamic but sensitive picture. Good job!

I find something very mysterious about this image. At first, it feels like a family snap from a day out, but underneath this veneer, there's another story. Perhaps it is the slightly scary bear mask or the old sepia effect of the colour palette. Either way, it's an intriguing picture.

The slightly deadpan expression on the subject's face is wonderful. I love how they look out of the frame in a way that challenges convention but is highly effective. The red brick in both the foreground and background holds the composition together well.

This image reveals an excellent understanding of lighting, which has helped create a portrait with a captivating intensity. The black-and-white conversion has been handled sensitively and artfully, adding depth and mystery to the image. This is good work; keep it up.

Superb use of lines, light, and shadow creates a beautiful composition and a lovely, engaging portrait. The mono conversion has been skillfully controlled, revealing just enough depth and detail in all the right places. This is lovely work; keep it up.

There's a beautiful moment of quietness in this carefully considered image. I love the framing; the artful use of the window as a frame-with-frame works a treat, especially as careful attention has been paid to the vertical and horizontal lines. But ultimately, it's the story that makes this image shine. Good work.

Positioning the subject in the centre of the frame was inspired, especially after reading in the caption that the image is about the contrast of the subject's 'wild' vibes with the sense of the calm that the quiet train tracks evoke.

This is a lovely, heartwarming photograph. The thoughtful composition is well-considered, especially with the trio of reds (the flowers, the advert in the background, and the panelling on the tube's interior); these three elements artfully hold the image together. Good work.

I love the sense of narrative in this excellent image. The photograph channels a strong cinematic groove, and the suggestion of a possibly sinister narrative unfolding is brilliant, suggested in part by the clever use of black-and-white, harsh lighting and consequent shadows. Kudos!

Wow, the use of aerial perspective from the hazy air has created an image that is really impactful and full of atmosphere and mood. The careful attention to the verticle lines and considered composition give the scene reverence, while the silhouetted travellers add a sense of romance.
