The contrast between the wonderful smiling children desperate to be seen by the camera and the small broken window that they appear through is lovely if slightly disconcerting .The exposure is spot on as is the tight crop which allows us the audience to really enjoy the lovely facial expressions on the faces. Pure joy and the photographer has captured this moment perfectly. Well done.
I love the simplicity of this incredibly well seen shot and the way the photographer has captured this subject. The use of a shallow depth of field works so well with the lines in the pavement that take our eye to the feet and legs of the subject which are wonderfully cropped to make this a great abstract image. The foot captured as it leaves the floor is just a great spot by the photographer. Well done.
Dramatic and powerful. The intense stare to camera creates a wonderful dynamic between subject and audience. The tight crop amplifies this and the stunning technique along with piercing sharpness in the eyes only adds to quality of this image and a great showcase to the photographers skill. This fun capture really shows the skills of the photographer and ability to really make the background work with the main subject. The interplay between them really shapes this image as our eye moves between the wonderful smile and bright eyes of the individual looking out of shot whilst we embrace the dazzling white smile of the giant billboard poster behind which mirrors the the person in front. The exposure and saturation are perfect in this captivating and striking image. Very well done.
A really stunning and haunting image that is beautifully softened around the edges and background which really emphasis the individual within the frame. The use of black and white and soft subtle tones works really well with the mood of the framing and setting of the portrait whist the pose and look of the model fits in wonderfully. The added bubbles just add that extra x factor to this already great capture.
The aerial camera position allows us the viewers to see the scale and splendor of the event unfolding before our gaze. this harmonious gathering is quite incredible in the rich details the photographer has captured and in the planning of the event to make this photograph possible. This image captures perfectly how drained a driver is after racing at the top level, it could also denote with his arm and hand holding his bowed head that he has not done as well in the race as he would have liked. The expression is then accentuated by the lady calmly stood by his side looking very fresh and relaxed. Great photograph.
This wonderful observational portrait offers a glimpse into the hardships and efforts people go to make a living. The vibrant colors really lift the image, which is further helped by the saturated colors within the frame. The fact we cannot see the face only adds to the strange and sometimes difficult relationship between locals and tourism. Stunning capture.
This wonderful, life affirming image of a child at play works on so many levels. The technique is beyond reproach with the photographer carefully controlling the exposure so that the child is well exposed against the bright blue sky, the low camera angle amplifies the theatrical movements of the child and the sense of adventure and play are at the heart of this image. It reminds of a nursery rhyme and this picture could be an illustration on the front cover of a children's book. A stunning photograph that for a moment takes us away from the worlds woes and shows us the love in a single image. Superb capture. Very well done.
A really subtle but enthralling environmental portrait of a worker, I assume set within their work place of the building structure still in development. The muted colors across the entire frame works so well together as does the staging of the individual set within the frame of the concrete slabs. The real gem is the burst of color and surreal element of the shaped object placed on top of the left hand column. A great formal portrait.
This stunning environmental group portrait is full of great moments and stunning camera techniques. The precision in choosing the right moment to press the shutter could not be better emphasized than the individual caught mid air surrounded by fellow Kurd's arms interlocked. The brooding dark sky works so well with the dark shades of clothes they all wear in this beautifully balanced image. Brilliant capture. Well done.. I'd love to see the other work in this project.

This delicate and vividly sumptuous close up of a person and their reflection is wonderful staged with the deliberately blurred background offering more of the face than the pin sharp details of the lips with the soft light hitting them perfectly. The deep sensual red hair really gives a sense that this is staged or set within a theater. The exposure and detailing are perfect as is the vibrant saturation in what is a stunning portrait. Superb.

Welcome to Photocrowd’s ‘People’ contest for New Joiners! These contests are a chance for new members to introduce their photography to the community, and get a taste of how Photocrowd contests work. This is a great example of how humans can be seen within the built environment. Dwarfed by our own creations, this lovely interplay between the two sides is beautifully weighted and the exposure highlighting the background whilst giving a darker texture to the individuals within the boat in the foreground is a classic device used both in photography and painting. A superb constructed photograph.
The vivid colors and wonderful framing using the doorway to place the individual central within the picture frame is perfectly balanced. The warm orange jumper she wears works so well against the deep blues of the sky in this great environmental portrait. It's a warm and wonderful capture. well done.
