Spirituality and that sense of awe really come through in this powerful and symbolic image of a Cardinal caught in a singular moment. The deeply saturated colors of the red and scarlet cassock are illuminated against the dark backdrop whilst that sense of godliness emanates from the light hitting the face and the smoke surrounding the Cardinal. The gold goblet only adds to that special moment where you do believe at least in the power of ritual. A stunning and reflective portrait. Superb. Very well done.

This unique and playful take on the competition theme really stood out from the crowd. It reminds me of the classic Cartier Bresson image of the man jumping across a puddle at a train station in Paris in 1947. The warm golden leaves really stand out against the watery reflection of the individual who looks like they are jumping across the puddle. Fun yet beautifully captured. Well done

This unusual image really is about the question. Why is this person on a beach with two dressed mannequins? The composition is lovely and the use of black and white allows us to enjoy the unique image rather than be distracted by colors. The central framing of the main subjects works well and the tonal range and exposure are very well controlled in strong light. A lovely capture that really intrigues me. Well done.

The vivid colors and complex formal arrangement really makes this image stand out from the crowd. The reds work so well against the bright lighter yellows which takes our eye to the main individual in the center of the frame and then around the entire image as we look around the different areas. Vibrant and well composed. This really is a great photograph. Well done.

The clever technique separating foreground from background using a narrow aperture and very long focal length lens has allowed this wonderful dual image where we the viewer first see the individual then the car in the background. The quality of light is warm and really works well on the back of the persons jacket and the blurred blue of the car really stands out against the tarmac. A superb capture and very well considered. Well done.

This studio portrait is wonderfully controlled. The tight crop allows us the viewers to really see the catch lights in the pupils and warm expression on the models face. The technique is well controlled as is the quality of light. The background is beautifully evenly lit and the subjects white top is very well exposed. A classic studio portrait, full of life and I'm sure fun for all involved. Really well done.

This classic portrait works because of its simplicity and the treatment by the photographer to the photographic process. The use of black and white works well with the tight crop, the white top the model wears and the information in the background all make for a stunning portrait. The direct look to camera really engages the audience and the back story gives us just enough information to make the image stand out even more. Great capture. Well done.

This special quiet reflective moment is caught beautifully on camera. We will never get to hear what they may have been thinking at this moment or talking about but we can share in the view. Great technique and camera position just elevated behind the three brothers allows us the audience to see perfectly what they are witnesses first hand. A wonderful capture that I'm sure they will all want a copy on their walls. Stunning. Very well done.

I can imagine this gentleman sitting in this space often as they get to see who comes along the path each day and maybe have a chat with many of the same people. The use of a slight wide angle lens allows us to see the street and mountains in the background whilst the main focus is still on the individual and his wonderful eyes looking out of shot. The soft colors and great exposure only add to what is a great capture. Well done.

Great and bold composition allowing for the empty sky to be the main area of the frame. It works very well and all of our attention is placed to the bottom right of the composition. The angle of the skate boarder against the building works really well and the illumination n the face and body really elevates the image. Superb and innovative capture.

This lovely playful atmospheric portrait of a young child looking in wonder at the snow falling from the sky. The hands raised out and wonderful facial expression just add to the excitement and fun that the child must have been feeling at the time. A classic grab shot in the moment perfectly captured and timed. Well done. Its a lovely keepsake.

Composition and exposure are at the heart of this stunning capture. The details in the white snow whilst holding all the information in the model shows great technique and skill on the photographers part whilst the placement of the subject allowing space around them really makes for a dramatic scene. The pose is delicate and the positioning of the face looking downwards away from camera again works very well and gives a painterly feel to this stunning photograph. Very well done.. It would make a great festive postcard. Stunning.

This beautifully captured and playful image of a young child experimenting with the kitchen taps whilst situated within the sink is a wonderful image. The subtle brown tonal range works so well against the delicate details of the highlights coming from outside the window. The exposure is very well judged and the light hitting the forehead and face is incredible. Playful and fun, this capture showcases great skill on the photographers part and the wonderful quality children bring to images. Very well done. It really is a lovely photograph.

This slightly surreal portrait is beautifully judged from the quality of light hitting the hair and face to the highlights bouncing off the watch face so we cant see what time it is. This is a timeless classic in the traditional sense with the stare to camera beguiling and warm. The classic composition and framing only add to the techniques shown by the photographer. Great image. Well done.

This dream like image really stands out because of the directional light across the main subject and the pockets of green which work so well. The teenager looking out of camera has the feel of maybe a gamer looking at the screen. We can't see this but the pose and concentration suggests that they could be looking at something intently. The soft light created by a fog machine is really nice and the framing is very well structured in what is a great photograph. Well done
