New Plant Growth in Spring (colour only)

I love this photo. The subject is sharp and clear, and looks great with the shallow depth of field behind. It’s well composed, with the enhancement of your little visitor on the tip of the leaf. This fits my brief perfectly, thanks for entering my contest!

This contest was very difficult to judge, as there were some simply amazing photos submitted. That being said, this one appealed to me on several levels. It suited the brief perfectly, an I was looking for the emergence of spring. I love the lighting, with the ray of light illuminating the flower bud. The bokeh background adds another level of beauty to this photo. And the subject is simply perfect, with the soft pastel colouring. Congrats on being my number one choice for the contest!

There were a number of photos showing the unfurling of fern leaves. They sure are pretty and a great subject to show the emergence of spring! This is one of my favourites. I love the composition and the soft green focus in your photo. Well done, and thanks for entering my contest.
