Wow! There's something about this shot that really grabs your attention. I'm not usually a fan of getting this close to subjects when it comes to night photography, as I prefer a sense of anonymity, but you've captured him in such a way that I can't help but look! His posture, his tired eyes, his half-smile; he tells such a story!! The colours here are great; vibrant like you'd expect in a city, but darker and more sinister, and the food looks absolutely delicious. You have a great eye for composition.
This shot is amazing! Congratulations!! The sharpness of the lines is incredible, but it's the very detailed reflection in the water that really makes this image stand out. You managed to capture the vibrant colours against a very muted sky, which makes them that much brighter in comparison, and the natural and artificial lights compliment each other really well. I imagine it must have taken quite a bit of patience to get this shot on what looks like quite a cold night. Well worth the effort!
Of over 1,700 entries, yours was the one that peaked my interest the most. Not only does it fit the brief perfectly, but there's an air of anonymity and mystery about it. There's nothing in the shot that would hint as to where it was taken and I think that that's reflective of how interchangeable cities can seem sometimes. The colours are brilliant, cold and quite harsh, and though there are many light sources in the shot, it's muted and dark in a way that only a city can be. Great use of focus too! An amazing photo! Congratulations!!

If you find that you know your local area in and out, and have explored every corner with your lens, there's an exciting way to see your town with new eyes – go nocturnal. The 'golden hours' of twilight are celebrated by photographers, but what about after that? What happens to the busy, bustling streets when the sun goes down? Have a go at heading out with your camera at dusk, instead of heading home.
I really like what you've tried to achieve with this shot. The colours are really vibrant, and I love the reds mixed into the blues, however I think you could have made more of a feature out of the blurred effect of the walker. Also, the light-source on the top right-hand side doesn't quite fit with the rest of the image; it's a bit too orange. Had the shadow of the walker and the London Eye been a little closer to the centre, you could have cropped this out and then the reflection of the light on the handrail would have stood out more.
I really love how simple this shot is. I've always been a huge fan of a prominent light-source in a low-light setting, and the contrast between the forefront of the image and the emptiness in the back is great. What I also love about this image is its ambiguity. On one hand, it's calm, serene, and in a way quite thought-provoking. But look at it again and it's almost menacing in how isolated it leaves you feeling.
