Owls

Gorgeous capture of a barn owl in full flight mode, full wings and face on too. Hard to avoid tresses on these sorts of shoots so good on you for on taking the time to remove them from your shot, tresses do spoil a nice photo don't they! Lovely catpure- it just about fulfils the brief clarity and lovely light, well done

I have to admit to little owls being one of my favourite owl types, they have the biggest attitude for such a small bird! I really like the two for the price of one entry here, is that a juvenile with parent or a mating pair? Nice capture, fulfils the brief, has clarity and good light. I just ran out of spaces in top ten. Well done

Another excellent capture, shot in beautiful light. Just slightly OOF on the tail tip, but otherwise a stunning photograph, of this unusual small sub saharan owl species, captured in its own natural habitat, set against this subtle gentle bokeh. Thanks for the entry.

My, what a difficult contest this has been to judge - you are ALL so GOOD! I have tried to be fair and select a varied selection of owl types/poses. However, my brief was CLARITY and shot in BEAUTIFUL LIGHT and I had to apply this criteria to my choices. This is one of a few entries that absolutely nailed the brief. 1ST place for this one Andy, stunning.
