I hope you enjoyed entering Oystercatchers. These are wading birds found on coasts worldwide apart from the polar regions. They are so named, because they feed largely on molluscs including oysters but they also feed on insects etc.
Well done for this entry which I have placed 1st. These birds are so vibrant and energetic to watch as they fly low to the shoreline often in numbers and piping along the way. You can almost hear their pipping calls in this picture! I love that you have captured what seems to be an entire colony of these birds. Stunning. Well done.

The oystercatcher is a wading bird typically found in groups along coastal regions around the world. These birds are reasonably large and instantly recognisable by their long orange bills used for prying open molluscs. I am interested to see what images you have managed to capture of these distinctive birds.

They are so named, because they feed largely on molluscs including oysters but they also feed on insects etc. Well done for this entry which I placed in top ten because it is unusual because it looks like a painting. I like the shape of the flight formation and the white underside of the three birds flying together against the blue hue of the background. The strong contrast makes for a dramatic, yet painting like finish. I like it.

The focus is bang on the eye of the parent bird, and you have managed good DOF across both birds, with background bokeh'd out. Well done, and a top ten placing for this charistmatic image.
