I felt like the innovaion you used here had to be rewarded. out of 5000+ entries you were the only one who thought of doing this. I'd love to see a series made using this effect. the use of the manhole cover instead of just a black tile gives us some reality which I like, I wonder if this could have been pushed farther. Great effort, well done.

A beautiful fashion shot here. Lovely repeating shapes of our parallel lines really emphasised by the use of black and white. The relaxed expression and closed eyes of the model gives a real serenity to the image. To add to the crispness of the image you could think about removing the couple of flecks on the boards she's laying on and the slight crease in the costume top left. These are very minor tweaks though and it's still a fantastic image.

I just loved the subject here, one of the most interesting ones I've seen in this entire competition. A simple but incredible composition too, really fulfilling the breif. What really elevates this for me is the snow. It creates a lovely movement with the slow shutter speed and even gives us more parallel lines!

Such beauty in simplicity here. Really using the hard light to create the image and make those nice crisp shadows. Lovely attention to detail with the alignment of the edge of the wall and the corner of the image. Also with the focal point being in exactly the right spot. I really appreciate the use of a softer focus in something so graphic, it draws my eye beautifully. And for all it's perfection of alignment I actually really like the very slight difference in the lengths of the pasta(??) and the spacing showing me it's a real object, not a drawing.

such a clean image with a very Certier-Bresson "decisive moment" to it. The perfect alignment of the rest of the composition is very satisfying too. And leaving a little piece of that perfectly blue sky at the top really compliments the other tones in the picture.

The perspective in this image is fantastic. It really makes you think and even gives me a bit of virtigo. Such an interesting angle, it draws the viewer in and makes them think. I love the neutral tones too, that blue/green of the water is subtle yet striking. combined with the snow on the ground you can really feel the temperature coming through the photo.

This is such an incredibly satifying image. A perfect composition I'd say. I love the contrast between the static parallel lines and the circling movement of the birds ephasized by the slower shutter speed giving that blur we see. The monochrome really strenghtens the graphic feel and the image as a whole too. Great work, well done.

The colours in this photo are so striking, I love it! And I wouldn't usually rate an image of a mural so highly but the way it's combined with the fence and the soft focus you've really put it in a different context and made something new of it. The composition feels very considered with the lines of the fence aligning with the lips and nose of the painting perfectly. I even love the kink in the top left corner adding more dimensionality.

The repeating shapes and colours in this photo make for a beautiful image. The group of 3 sets of lines with the wires (or washing line?), the blaconys edge and then the curtains wonderfully reflect the set of 3, or arguably 5, earthy reds and pinks; mostly in the curtains and then the lady's clothing.

Definitely the most striking image I have seen in this competition. So incredibly graphic, I love it! The umbrella is a great touch and makes the photo, giving more lines and that bold contrast to the blue of the lines. The perfect alignment of the composition is very satisfying too. I also wanted to mention loved your triptych too!

I love the confusion generated by all the reflections in this photo. So much going on it makes you want to look more and more. The use of (mostly) black and white adds to this feeling too. I would usually steer away from keeping some coloured elements in a black and white image as it can be quite tacky but it's nicely subtle here and really fun because it has more of a purpose! did take me a minute to find him! One slight point I'd say is be careful of over processing, I can't say exaclty what you've done, perhaps too much contrast and lifting the shadows; but the effect is some haloing around the people. It's subtle though and still a lovely image regardless.

The technique used here is really interesting and is a really great fit for the theme. I love how you've taken a photograph and push, pulled and mirrored it into something completely new. The streaks give such a feeling of movement it really leaps out the screen.

This is a truly beautiful photograph. You can really feel the motion captured here which it really emphasised by the pleats in the dress. Which also gives us the link to our theme, nicely done. Great use of black and white here which really focuses the viewer on the movement and forms. I really love the way the flick of the dress partially covers the face of the model adding an extra depth and intreague to the image.

This was my favourite bridge picture from the whole competition. I love the use of black and white as it really makes the tones of the support cables stand out beautifully. The clouds underneath the bridge really give us a sense of scale along with the composition which shows the stanchions leading off into the distance.

Another great theme for anyone wanting to head out with their camera, eagle-eyed, to explore their local environs and see what interesting images they can harvest. Architectural imagery is likely, and indeed the built, urban environment more generally is going to yield a lot of parallel lines. But look everywhere, and on different scales. Many smaller man-made objects incorporate parallel lines in their construction and decoration, and there will be parallel lines on display in nature too.

I love how this feels so considered and candid at the same time. The contrast between the smooth lines of the bench and the crumpled packet demonstrates this. And the composition perfectly places the rubbish in the frame. A very satisfying image, well done.
