Pastel tones

**Open to photographers with a gold or silver ranking. There are two other 'Pastel tones' contests currently open to other ranks. Take a look at the <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/leaderboard/">leaderboard</a> for more information on Photocrowd rankings.** The technical definition of 'pastel tones' is a "family of colours which, when described in the HSV colour space, have high value and low to intermediate saturation." In simple terms, these are soft, milky or subdued shades that can be soothing to the eye. Mauve and baby blue are typical pastel colours, and there are many, many more for you to choose from.
