I love the simplicity of this image. There are no distraction to the primary subject - the shape and movement of the petals is so beautiful. Like how the image is named so appropriately as well. The pastel tones are all over the image - from the background to the petals and even the yellow center is muted/pastel colors and tones. The photographer has also chosen the colors that nicely complement each other adding to the pastel toned theme. Nicely done - simple yet to the point!
I love the shallow depth of field and the off-center focus of these frosted leaves. Typically leaves are hard to edit to a pastel tone but the white of the frost tones down the green and gives it an added softness. To me this shows creatively and thinking outside the box for this pastel prompt. I really like the sharpness of the ice and the lines of the leaves too!

***This contest is open to subscribers (members on the Challenger, Pro and Master subscription tiers). However if you're not a paying subscriber you can still purchase entries for £2 (GBP) per image.*** Photographing with pastel tones can either be achieved in the composition of the image itself, or in the post-processing stages where primary colours are de-saturated or muted. Generally, images with pastel shades are considerably softer and have gentler connotations than shots with bright and lively hues. Try pastels for yourself and find your own style.
I really do like the story of this image - the lone fisherman and the iceberg are strong subjects but they do go together to tell the story. I wish there was some color and tone in the image. I understand that the light falling snow and the movement of the boat can be challenging but given the circumstances it is quite nicely done. Perhaps a good candidate for a black and white or even storytelling prompt.
