Solid piece of work here. It pulls on the heartstrings and brings me back in time to when things were more innocent. I like the warm colour cast and appreciate how the photographer lowered the camera angle to be eye-level to the subject being photographed. This is a pretty tough exposure, shooting directly into the sun, but the photographer got it right and was spot on. Our small photographer looks like a pro and so serious! Say cheese! This is an illustration of "making" and not "taking" a photo.
I have no idea what exactly is going on here? Who is this small child that would get this sort of attention from photographers? You can see that most of the press photographers here are shooting with longer lenses. I like how this photographer backed up the perspective and shot wide so we could get a better sense of the visual story here. And, once again, the exposure here is perfect! I keep wondering if this small child was freaking out over all this photographer attention!
What's not to love about the Indian HOLI festival? It marks the arrival of Spring. The focus image is a bit "soft", but, in my humble opinion, that adds to the authenticity of the shot. You see, in today's photography marketplace, content always trumps craft. In other words, what a picture says is often more important than how it was created. So we embrace these small imperfections and celebrate pure joy. I totally dig the colours of HOLI. This shot makes me want to be there, in person, celebrating this event along with the subjects and photographers.
For a photograph to move from good to great, it needs to include the following four elements: exposure, lighting, subject and composition. This photograph has all four. It's beautifully captured, cropped and shared. This is a photo I would proudly hang on my wall. Fantastic job, well done! The fact that the photographer is wearing a black and white striped shirt adds irony and humour to the shot. Plus I like the fact that it was probably shot with a longer lens, so the compression here works nicely. Bravo!
What a photograph - so full of human emotion. The grey head of hair and wrinkled hands help tell the narrative of how people, of all ages, interact with technology. Just think about how many different capture devices this gentleman has had in his hands over his lifetime, and think about the thousands of memories and moments he has created to sustain him in his sunset years. The black and white works perfectly here to add texture to the photograph. The exposure, while quite challenging, is also spot on. Wonderful work.
This photo is full of colour, drama, life and curiosity. The saturated blue tones tease me to look closer, and I find myself wondering what this photographer is doing in the scene. The top layer looks like a picturesque, inverted cloud cover. The bottom line for me is that I want to be there, sitting beside this photographer and sharing stories of capture, exposure, focus and white-balance. Drama and mystery are two important elements in a photograph and this one has both. I wonder what is in his backpack... More gear? Food? More clothing? Tell me more!
What's not to like about this great photo? It's freakin' awesome. Not only did the photographer capture just the right moment, but the shot, as a whole, is a snapshot on wildlife photography in general. Look at all those cameras. Man, I wish I was on the raft with them. Nice work on the exposure here as well-balancing the whites and blacks in the same scene is not easy. And, I also liked the photographer including just enough environment to give you a perfect sense of context.
There is so much beauty and delicacy to this shot. I keep staring at it and wondering to myself what the subject is doing... Meditating? Chanting? Being still? The composition here is just so dynamic, and the colour palette is a perfect, subtle complement to the subject the photographer is capturing. The receding lines draw the eye into the frame and gently direct it to the human element. Man and nature artfully done. This is poetry in photography - beautiful work.
What a silhouette... beautiful at so many levels. This photograph is so dramatic and inspiring. I bet anything this photographer absolutely loved this shot - I know I would. You can feel the chill in the air, and look how crisp and clean the light is for photography. Again, wow! Great exposure here and so well done. Can you take me on your next adventure, please? I also love the dark areas of the frame, even the blacks. Perfect framing!

I love this shot for its strong editorial content. The exposure is good. The composition is good, the lighting is good, and most importantly, the subject is good. I thought that the perspective of the photographer (from behind the subjects) was also clever. It adds even more mystery to the final image. The colourful wigs are so awesome. Look how intent the photographers look. Lighten up guys, this is suppose to be fun! Nice eye on this - keep up the great work!

I just love the monochromatic look and feel of this photograph. And the sheer happiness of the subject being photographed - not with a DSLR but a smartphone. What a beautiful capture. The cropping is equally strong, giving lots of upper-frame space for narrative detail, and keeping the subjects in the lower part of the frame. I wonder if the photographer shooting this scene shared this gem with the couple being photographed? Regardless, well done. Life. Camera. Action. Keep shooting away.
The magic of the photo here is in its art direction -beautifully crafted. The colour palettes of the subjects match perfectly. It's also mysterious that we can't see the face of the children as they are behind their viewfinders. There is a soft and subtle vignette around the outer edges of the frame. And overall, the photographer chose a more muted and natural look and feel. Lovely. Great piece of work. There is also plenty of space around the main subjects to tell us a little bit about where they are.

There is something mesmerizing and tantalising about a strong black and white. The tone fits the mood of the photograph. You have strong light areas, strong dark areas and great shapes throughout the scene as well. I like how this photographer placed the human subject on the rule-of-thirds grid line. Having grown up in advertising, all I can see here is a photo that is screaming for ad copy! The atmospheric elements here also add a nice twist to this pastoral scene. Again, I want to go there... right now!
