Period Costumes

This image was almost in my top 10. It is a great capture, from the tone and lighting through to the posing and props. I would have liked to have seen a bit of grain in the editing process to heighten that period feel.

The lighting in this image is beautiful, it creates depth and dimension as well as helping to create a great atmosphere. The subject has a great expression which adds to the capture and gives it the feel of a film still.

This image is technically very strong, evenly lit, well exposed and an overall good capture. I like they way it feels like we are listening into an important meeting or such like. The editing is very good and the colours haves a painterly feel.

This image almost made my top 10. I really liked the unusual perspective of this image. There seems to be a real sense of motion to this image, this again could be a still from a film. I like the black and white conversion, it really adds a sense of drama to the image.

I really like the overall look of this image. The gentle sepia is very effective. I would like to have seen more focus on the face but over-all its a really strong image with enough context to create a story.

I really like the image, it almost made my top 10! The composition works really well, with the two girls in the left third, allowing enough room to see the train behind as well as in front. The expression from the two girls feel very authentic.

I really like this image. There is lots of great detail and the editing style is very strong. I'd like to see it with a little less dodge and burn for a more realistic effect but over all the image works very well.

I really like this image. I particular like the tones of the images, blues and magenta works really well here and gives a great sense of atmosphere. The image is well framed and give enough detail in the background for context.

This is an interesting image. The composition works very well, centre in amongst the tall trees and taken from a slightly lower angle The lighter dress is in contrast to the dark, grotty surroundings and draws the eye very well.

This is a fascinating image, so much going here! The wide angle means the image is nicely framed by two subjects, drawing the eye in. The editing is strong and gritty and certainly add to the atmosphere of this image.

I really found myself drawn to this image. The lighting on the subject works very well. I like the way the subject is mainly in shadow apart from the side light. The fog works well to create the atmosphere of the era.

This is a mesmerising image. The lighting is absolutely exquisite. The use of fog works really well and helps to create the atmosphere here. The colour toning works really well, and although a few parts of the image are out of focus this doesn't detract from the overall impact.

This image is really good, it has the feel of a still from a film. Its a lovely capture of a moment. I would like to have seen the whole coach, and the image not as tightly cropped. But the editing works well, very subtle.

This is a beautiful image. I don't know if the bird is photoshopped in after but it works very well. The depth of field is captured nicely and the cool tones allow for the dress to stand out very well.

I really like the authenticity of this moment captured here. This image is nicely framed, and evenly lit. I would love to have seen it in a black and white conversion with some grain for a more film like effect.
