Zay made an impact on APOY from Round 1, winning the 'Points of View' category with his drone shot of colourful fabrics at Lake Inle, in his home country of Myanmar. He went on to come second in 'Monochrome Magic', third in 'About Face' and placed first again in 'Keep on Moving'. In addition, he regularly placed high up in the Crowd Vote.
As Amateur Photographer's editor Nigel Atherton says, "I am very envious of Zay's unwavering eye for a great picture. Whatever the genre or the subject, he seems to be able to produce images with the wow factor that stand out from the crowd. His instinctive feel for composition and colour are exemplary, but he is equally at home working in black and white. He's a deserving winner of APOY 2020."
