The Crowd Choice winners, and the Panel-Judged Shortlists will be announced in January 2019.
Prizes will be announced and awarded at an awards ceremony to take place at the Rutland Birdfair 2019. Details to be confirmed.

Main Prize

The photographer of the winning image chosen by the judging panel will win a cash prize of £5,000 and the title ‘Bird Photographer of the Year’. The winner will also receive a personal portfolio review by the Director of Photography at Alamy, have their work and personal interview featured on the Alamy website, social media and blog, plus a special seller's account with a personal account manager and receive 100% of sales revenue for 2 years.

Portfolio Prize

The winner of the Best Portfolio chosen by the judging panel will receive an Olympus OM-D E M1 MKII camera body and M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F/4 IS PRO lens with a combined value of £3,500. The winner will also receive a personal portfolio review by the Director of Photography at Alamy and a special seller's account receiving 100% of any sales revenue for 12 months.

Category Prizes

With the exception of the new for 2019 Wildlife Worldwide Inspirational Encounters category, the photographer of the winning image in each category will receive a pair of Swarovski CL Companion 8x30 binoculars with a retail value of approximately £800. The winners will also receive a personal portfolio review by the Director of Photography at Alamy and a special seller's account receiving 100% of any sales revenue for 12 months. Those judged second in each of the categories (except for the Wildlife Worldwide Inspirational Encounters category) will receive a runners-up prize of a clothing bundle worth £160 from outdoor clothing and equipment specialists Country Innovation, comprising the following items which can be viewed on their website.

Venture Waistcoat, Field Pouch, CI Knitted Hat, and CI Knitted Gloves.

Wildlife Worldwide Inspirational Encounters Award

New for 2019 is the Wildlife Worldwide Inspirational Encounters Award. The winner of this category will receive a £1,500 voucher redeemable against a Wildlife Worldwide holiday of the winner’s choice. There is no prize for second place in this category. As part of the award, Wildlife Worldwide will also be contributing £1,500 towards Birdfair’s annual Conservation Project.

The Cameron Bespolka Young Bird Photographer of the Year

The photographer of the winning image will receive £350, a pair of Swarovski CL Pocket 8x25 binoculars and the title of ‘Young Bird Photographer of the Year’. The runner-up will receive £200. 3rd place will receive £100. This is a judged only contest. You can find out more about it here.

Nature Photographers Ltd Crowd Choice Award

Chosen by the Photocrowd community, each NPL Crowd Choice category winner will receive £50 from Nature Photographers Ltd.
