The 4th CEPIC Stock Photography Awards

A free-to-enter competition run to support traditional stock photography and to defend the rights of photographers.

Help

The CEPIC Stock Photography Awards are hosted on Photocrowd.com, and Photocrowd’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy apply.

In addition please note the following in relation to these awards:

1. The Promoter

The promoter is CEPIC, of Fritschestrasse 22, 10585 Berlin, Germany.

2. Eligibility

The competition is free to enter and open for all photographers globally.

Employees or agents of CEPIC and Photocrowd, their families or other persons connected with this promotion (excluding the sponsors) are not eligible to enter.

Entrants under the age of 16 at the closing date of the competition must gain the permission of a parent or guardian to enter the competition.

It is the responsibility of each entrant (and the entrant's parent or guardian) to ensure that they have read and will abide by these rules and Photocrowd’s terms and conditions. By submitting an entry, each entrant (and the entrant's parent or guardian) agrees to these rules, that their entry complies with these rules, and that they will be liable to the Promoter and their licensees in respect of any damages or losses incurred as a breach of the Rules.

3. Submission Rules

All entries must be submitted via the Photocrowd online platform. No entries will be accepted by email or post.

All images should be the result of a single image and any major alterations should be avoided.

Excessive cloning out/removal of elements within the image, merging two images or more and replacing backgrounds are all examples of processes that will invalidate an entry in all categories.

Adjustment to levels, curves, colour balance, colour saturation, dodging and burning, selective adjustments using layers and blemish and dust spot removal are all examples of acceptable manipulation.

Full guidelines on permissible image sizes and types, and what image manipulation and retouching is allowed are provided on the Preparing Your Images page on this website.

The Promoter reserves the right to request from the entrant a copy of the original camera file and a screengrab of their editing software showing other images from the same shoot, and to eliminate entries where such a request is ignored or where it is suspected that the rules have been infringed.

The Promoter and Photocrowd reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify or remove any entry that does not comply with the rules, at any stage of the awards.

4. Prizing

Please refer to the prizing page for details of prizes.

5 Competition Judging

Once the entry period has closed, the panel of judges will convene to determine their prize winners.

Shortlisted images will be announced on 3rd May 2018, prior to the CEPIC 2018 Congress Welcome Reception and the winners will be announced during the CEPIC Annual Industry Party on Thursday, 31st May 2018 in Berlin, Germany, or at an alternative time and venue at the Promoter's discretion. The results will be announced on the Photocrowd website on Friday 1st June 2018.

The winner and finalists will receive invites to the awards to receive any prizes they may win. Where this is not possible they may nominate someone to accept their prize on their behalf, or to submit a short video of them accepting their prize to be shown at the event.

Please refer to our Judges page for more information on the Judges. The Judges’ decisions are final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the decisions.

6. Copyright and permissions

All imagery MUST be the exclusive work and property of the submitting photographer and may not include any element that is the copyright of another. The Copyright for each image entered will remain with the submitting photographer. By entering the Competition and submitting your photograph(s), you hereby grant the Promoter, its sponsors and their hosting partner Photocrowd a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to use your photograph(s) for any purpose connected with the Competition and the CEPIC Annual Congress, and also including (but not limited to): (a) judging the Competition (b) displaying the winning entries and runners up at public exhibitions promoting CEPIC and organized by CEPIC (c) inclusion within the Website, a CEPIC Stock Photography Awards book, magazine or similar (d) inclusion within any materials promoting of the Competition and/or any exhibition organized by CEPIC, in the promotion of the CEPIC (e) inclusion on Competition -and exhibition- related products to be sold by the CEPIC or any third party following the individual agreement by the author (f) sub-licensing the entries to the press for reproduction in connection only with the Competition and any exhibition (g) allowing viewers of the Website to view images on a computer screen, PDA or mobile telephone and store such pages in electronic form on disk or on a PDA or mobile telephone (but not on any server or other storage device connected to a network) for their personal, non-commercial use only.

Any photograph used by CEPIC shall carry a credit line. Any failure to provide such credit line shall not be deemed to be a breach, as long as CEPIC uses its reasonable endeavors to rectify such failure within a reasonable period from the date of notice of such failure.

7. Publicity

You agree to participate in related publicity and to the use of Your name and likeness for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation.
