This image stood out with the subtle pink of the cup and whilst it isn't an intense colour, it is prominent in the composition.
The mixture of curves and straight edges combine to frame the key aspects which draw upon the very thing that photographers use to capture the world around them. I love the inclusion of the eyes, both in the magazine and hidden behind the lenses of the sunglasses in the print as it brings the questions of what the subjects may have seen aside from the photographer. This is complimented by the natural material of the leather strap on the wooden surface used as a base of the entire composition.
The textures give a very natural feel overall with colours in the coffee mirrored in the grains of the wood. The simplicity of what appears to be a pause in the life of the photographer leave the viewer wondering what will be embarked upon once the coffee break is over.
A good compositional scene and thought provoking image worthy of first place.

***This contest is open to subscribers (members on the Challenger, Pro and Master subscription tiers). However if you're not a paying subscriber you can still purchase entries for £2 (GBP) per image.*** Pink is a bold and visually meaningful colour with a tonne of representations in both the natural and manmade worlds. A colour often associated with femininity and sweetness, these meanings can also be totally subverted in different contexts. Pastel and high intensity shades of pink can be equally impressive when captured and presented thoughtfully. Let's see what you can do with the colour 'Pink'!

The pinks in this image are beautifully complemented by the peacock blue and green.
The framing overall highlights the geometrics of the manmade structure which is visually purely rectangles. The many frames of colour surrounding the door and window are art in itself especially with the contrasting colours.
This particular scene would catch my eye enough to take a photograph of it and I like the fact the photographer opted for a square composition. This image wouldn't look out of place hanging on the wall in a chunky a frame and I would urge the photographer to make sure this takes pride of place somewhere. I can imagine it would make a fantastic album cover for a musician with a laid back summer vibe.
The textures of this image are somewhat grungy in a natural style of local paintwork hinting at the materials used to finish the store front beneath the bright paint.
What is not to love about the abstract nature of this residential building. I must commend the photographer for their composition and seeing the beauty of this architecture as an art piece.
On first viewing, this could easily be a geometric art piece of no defined material, the angles and lines are currently on trend in design as well as the shades of pink complimented with the shades of grey. A slight nod to the 1980s in colour choice wonderfully captured with the tilted angle of the camera and diagonal draw to the lower corner.
Without the details of the reflections to the left of the image the viewer would be pushed to easily identify the subject which further highlights the abstract nature of the overall composition.
i can easily see this image belonging to a portfolio to be shown in a gallery of similar abstractions of modern architecture.

The colours of this image are nothing short of beautiful, with the graduation from pinks to blue feeling almost like space exploration.
I particularly enjoy the precise arrow formation and the timing of the shot with the colouration feeling like a sunset adventure. i can almost hear the sound as the air is cut through, this captures the speed of flight in a way which is other-worldly complimented by the colours which give a feeling of uncertainty as to the location.
I think that to have had a larger amount of the colourful vapour trails would've resulted in an image nothing short of outstanding as the beauty in the swirling patterns would lead to an exciting pull of the viewers eyes.
Overall, a very clever use of colour and subject, with the skill of timing to create a very pleasant image.
