Brief
Images depicting landscapes, wildlife and local communities in the Arctic and Antarctic polar regions illustrated as pristine areas to be preserved. The Arctic polar region includes the North of Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland, Alaska, Canada, Greenland. The Antarctic polar region includes the Sub-Antarctic Islands (South Georgia, Marion and Prince Edward Islands, Crozet and Kerguelen Archipelagos, Heard and McDonald Islands and Macquarie Island)
The Award offers €11,000 of cash prizing, as well as inclusion in an exclusive exhibition in Monaco, and trips for the Grand Prize winner to the launch of the exhibition in Monaco, and to visit the Amazon Research Station of the University of Ecuador, to do a photo documentary in the field, in the heart of the Ecuadorian jungle. Shortlisted photographers will also be published in the PA2F Environmental Photography Award book.
Prize details
Grand Prize Winner
– The title “PA2F Environmental Photographer of the Year 2025”
– €5,000 grant
– Invitation (including travel and accommodation) to Monaco for the opening of the PA2F Environmental Photography Award exhibition
Category Winners
– €1,000 for each of the 5 category winners
Public Vote Winner
– €500 for the public vote winner across all categories
– Invitation (including travel and accommodation) to visit the Amazon Research Station of the University of Ecuador, and to do a photo documentary in the field, in the heart of the Ecuadorian jungle
Students’ Choice Winner
– €500 for the public vote winner across all categories
Shortlisted Photographers
– Featured in the PA2F Environmental Photography Award exhibition in Monaco
– Published in the PA2F Environmental Photography Award catalogue, and sent two complimentary copies
