This contest is for your photos showing the dynamic relationships between predators and their unsuspecting prey in the animal kingdom. Whether it is a cunning ambush, a dramatic chase, a moment of survival or the demise of the prey, try to capture the intensity and vulnerability inherent in the predator-prey dynamic.

This picture has many qualities, both in terms of storytelling and execution. The open belly of the elephant makes for a great frame within the frame composition, drawing the attention on the hyena. The eye contact of the subject makes it even more captivating. The rotten flesh is captured in great details, highlighting the scavenging nature of the hyena. Maybe I would even out the yellowish halo at the bottom in post (due to grass in the foreground?), but it doesn't hinder the arresting power of this dramatic shot. Congrats!

Great shot of one of the greatest yet most endangered predators on our planet! The colors and patterns on the prey complement those of the tiger really well, making for a beautiful and enjoyable picture - and no doubt a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Congrats!

Amazing depiction of the classic Grizzly-Salmon pair and pretty much flawless execution. The sharpness of the picture, combined with warm light and the predator and prey exposed in full on the hunting ground, make it a very satisfying shot overall. Congrats!

Nothing like a lion with a mouth full of blood and its fangs deep in the flesh of its prey to create a dramatic picture that stops you in your tracks. Eye contact makes it even more intense. Love how the flesh in the lion's mouth looks like its tongue, fun detail. I would have probably aimed in post for a more natural look and feel esp. in terms of colors, so to make the pic feel rawer - could be worth a try! A gruesome shot in the best way possible, serving as a testament to the might of this great predator.

Fantastic shot of this lioness and great execution overall. The intensity of the stare stops the viewer in their tracks, emphasized by the frame within the frame composition created by the hole in the belly of the buffalo. Depth of field draws you into the stare of the predator even further. Maybe you could try to fix in post some of the color degradation / noise due to high ISO to bring out the full potential of your picture. Congrats!

The vibrant interplay of contrasting colors creates an energetic visual, capturing the viewer's attention. The composition, cleverly centering on the four ants encircling their prey, introduces a glimpse into the unique behaviors exhibited within ant colonies. Congratulations on securing a spot in the top 10!
