The premise of this image is fascinating one. It's a great study of age and the passing of time, through a single family. We love the tonality and unconventional composition, which allows us to focus on the arrangement of the subjects. Group portraits have to be tightly controlled and the receding detail moving back is effective at focussing attention on the largest face. Well done!

We like the lighting and processing of this shot, which is a great example of an environmental portrait. The image successfully captures the subject's character and the pose leads us through the composition seamlessly. A frame which demonstrates good knowledge of lighting in outdoor settings. Well done.
With portrait photography the rule that simple is best certainly applies. The aim is to capture the emotion of the subject and a little of their character. While this is a fun image, the processing distracts us from the subject's expression. When editing an image it's important to ask yourself if an effect will truly add anything to the shot. In this case it would probably have been better to let the subject's quirky dress sense speak for itself!

The pose is spot-on and the light direction imparts a wonderful graphical aspect. A lovely narrative shot which demonstrates great lighting knowledge.

What an atmospheric image! It's incredibly simple, yet powerful. The contrast is lovely and the exposure is perfect for managing detail. Despite making use of natural light this portrait almost looks as if it were shot on a studio set. The off-centre subject placement adds intrigue and the large area of white adds a dreamy, contemplative feel. Well constructed and captured!
