Railway Station Buildings in Monochrome

Created and judged by Dafydd

Open Rating Results
This contest is created and judged by a member of the Photocrowd community. Want to run your own? Find out more >

This contest is for your photos showing the architectural details of railway station buildings. You may include the concourses and platform areas so long as they are accessible to the public. The stations may be currently in use or may be on a preserved/heritage railway. Please do not enter any images of abandoned stations or station buildings that are now used for other purposes. You may include people or trains, but the clear focus of your image should be the architecture. Images may be wider angles or you may want to get close in to some interesting architectural detail.

Your image should be monochrome. That includes black and white, or tones like sepia or cyanotype. Please do not enter selectively coloured images in this contest.

To be eligible for judging please include the location of the station in the title or description, not in hashtags. In the interests of fairness please do not include any means of identification within your image, title, description or hashtags.

How it works

Every photo submitted will be available for the crowd to rate once the submissions period has ended. You can see all the images uploaded to a contest, but will need to rate them to see how they’re ranked once the rating period begins.

Some contests on Photocrowd also have a judge. After the submission period closes the judge chooses their favourite images and writes some image reviews. The crowd and judge results will be announced on the same day.
