Great contest!

This is a vert atmospheric shot, you really feel as if you are part of the action, love the colours, natural lighting and the central focus of the action - with great attention to detail on the uniform and a real energy to this picture makes it worthy of it's place well - done

This is a great capture here - the land of make-believe - a real story that is about to unfold - a great shot that benefits from the whiteout so we focus on the figure and the story - the tree below the figure perhaps a slain dragon! Lovely magical capture that leads the viewer to their imagination

I keep coming back to this photo and there have been some brilliant shots all round. What I like about this is that we see so much detail, the black and white enhances the age and feeling of the photo. The infantryman in the foreground and the tank moving forward into battle - It could have been taken in WW2 - There is so much kit on show here, the tank, weaponry, basic kit, a hint of insignia on the left arm and a real feeling of movement and atmosphere. I said the devil was in the detail and this has it all going on - congratulations - Tarquin Shaw-Young FEAA

Hundreds of clicking cameras capture these meticulously detailed battle reenactments from Waterloo to Remagen from Vikings to Jousting Knights. Frame the action and the drama of these living history events in black and white or colour. The devil is in the detail

There is a real feeling of pre-action here - lots a detail and reality - very charismatic to look at and very cinematic - you can imagine this as an oil painting on a large canvas in the portrait gallery - brilliant smokey colours that evoke the essence of the battle about to unfold - great work

I love the expression of this shot - an almost resigned look that is well captured and defined The focus is on the man and the uniform and it achieves all it sets out to do. Really impressed by this portrait shot that is crisp and effective - very well done a great capture

Lovely clear and effective shot, the young infantryman in the midst of battle reloading and the sense of the battle in the background Brilliant framing and very atmospheric the grey and yellow and the hint of red hair really draw us into this beautiful shot - well done

What I really like here is the similarity of a WW1 photo postcard - lots of kit on show - the lost pensive thoughts of a lo young private at the front line - and the natural look and feel to the shot - we are looking in on a moment in time beautifully recreated

There is lots going on here- I love being part of the action - the union jack in the background - the heat of battle - we are drawn instantly into the gun smoke and it works very well as a shot - The infantry red standing out proudly - a great capture that embodies the essence of re-enactment and storytelling

this is a great wartime shot very effective and simple but very natural - the children are lost in play and the green of the background works well to frame the shot - the kids make it happen and we see the story unfolding - lovely capture
