This is a beautiful, "soothing" (as you put it) photograph that captures the peacefulness of this spot in an interesting way.
The trees are a big portion of the photo which make it a great entry. The small area we can see out of though, we see how gorgeous this little area really is! There are ferns covering almost the entire shore, more trees, and vines all along the branches. There is also a little stream running through which adds to the peacefulness of it. If this wasn't taken in a jungle or rainforest, it looks very close.
Well done on the composition of this image. By having the trees block out most of the view, it makes us focus more on them, which is what the contest was for. This also forces us to notice all the details we can that are on the outside of the trees, giving it a very unique look and feel.
Congratulations on taking a photo good enough for 4th place!
This is a very great shot for sure that captures a lot of elements.
The redwoods are beautiful on their on with their size and shape.
The leaves and branches growing in all sorts of directions add lots of interest to the photo.
And most of all the sunlight is absolutely stunning! It is so bright and shining in tons of directions, flooding and bathing the entire photo in it.
Also, if you look carefully, you notice more colors than you realized at first. Lots of green from the trees, light blue peeking in from the sky, and muted colors from the sun's rays.
This is a fabulous composition in every way! Congratulations on taking a photo good enough for 2nd place!
This is a photograph that really captures the intense size of how big sequoia trees can get!
Your timing of capturing this photo was spot on with how the light is perfectly and gently shaded from side to side. This lets us see so many details of the tree trunk with also making the photo more interesting with the shaded left side.
I also love the amount of color in this photo. Just the trunk alone has a lot and in the back there are all kinds of bright greens, browns, oranges, etc.
Nice job on using the Rule of Thirds for this photo. It makes the photo more interesting because this way you still get to see the full size of the tree from side to side, and also get to see more of the part of the landscape that is in the sunlight.
Great job on every aspect of this photo. It has so many elements to it that make it a fabulous photo and great for 1st place!
This is a great perspective photo of redwood trees!
The main tree is right in the center of the image. We notice it immediately and follow its shape all the way to the top. There is even a "crease" in the middle of the bark acting as a leading line. Nice job on catching it from exactly this spot!
The main tree is already amazing but the other trees make the photo even better! Their leaves are everywhere, making almost a complete canopy along the top. The greens from them brighten up the whole image and with the sun shining through them does that even more.
This is an all-around stunning and beautiful image. Amazing job on it!

This photo, with the natural scenery and effects added to it, creates a fabulous composition that looks straight out of a story.
This is definitely one of the prettier photos I have seen of redwood trees. Everything is "placed" right.
The trees are all over the image, making it a great top ten image.
The path is winding and the fabulous bright green, gently lit moss leads our eye right through it.
The girl (appearing to look in wonder at the scene) was also photographed very well with how the colors of her dress stand out by being different colors than the rest of the photo. She is also a good distance away from the camera. Not too close, but still stands out.
Amazing job on every aspect of this photo. Your composing of it and editing especially. It creates a definitely realistic image that also evokes a story-like atmosphere.
