Thank you Frani for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 5th place! Simplicity and a little bit of fun for an intriguing result. The deformation given by the curved surface of the spoon created a mysterious reflection: it looks like the alphabet of a dead language. The neat repetition of symbols works very well in this photo.
Thank you Joanna for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 7th place! A very effective high key minimalism and extreme black and white. A very well composed image using the diagonal of the stem and its mirror reflection. The strange creature offers a magical point of interest and curiosity.
Thank you for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 9th place! I like the mysterious atmosphere of this image where the black of this high contrast b&w predominates. The couple is well framed against the white background of what looks like a luminous waterfall, their silhouettes are nicely defined. A minimalist scene where the couple is reflected in the water together with the row of lights.
Thank you Gilbert for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your first place! This photo immediately struck me for its geometric elegance, for how the white stripes stand out on the black. The reflection occupies a small part of the frame, but it is the protagonist, because the white lines seem to liquefy when they are reflected on the roof of the car. By isolating a part of the scene from the context, you have created a strong minimalist composition, you have made the invisible visible. A fascinating and classy image, for me at the first place.
Thank you Julia for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 6th place! I like the way you have captured the atmosphere of this place, the bluish black and white underlines the cold atmosphere of the scene. Old industrial buildings, squared and with dark windows, nicely composed geometries for the built structures and the associated reflections. A non-mirror reflection, almost evanescent, but still important in the composition of the photo.

Thank you Nick for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 10th place! A self-portrait that immediately struck me for the sympathy that it displays, for the expression of the subject and for the teddy bear that pops out at the bottom, almost to give his ok. It looks like a simple photo, but, in reality, it is an elaborate, effective composition that shows two reflections of the subject, front and side, in the same frame.
Thank you Simon for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 4th place! A different interpretation of a highly photographed place, a great sense of depth and symmetry, enhanced by the strong black and white. The vertical format slims the composition, creates an upward movement, together with the dramatic distortion caused by the lens. The side glasses, on which the clouds are reflected, seem to take flight.
Thank you Serge for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your second place! A very poetic image, the little girl is looking out of the window, perhaps of a train, with an absorbed expression. Who knows what she is looking through the eyes of the imagination, what struck her, the landscape out there seems so uninteresting ... I like how her reflected figure gradually fades, blends into the landscape beyond the window.

Thank you Charlie for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 3th place! A beautifully composed image, I admire the geometric perfection of this work. The grid pattern is precisely framed, with the thicker horizontal bar exactly in the center. A grid, like a sheet of a notebook, which contains in many squares another grid. A play of squares. In each square there is a different reflection, there are also people at the bottom. The highly contrasted black and white brings out the structure from the dark.
Thank you Julie for joining my “Reflections in Black and White” contest and congratulations on your 8th place! An image that convey expectation, there is a photographer isolated on a strip of land in the middle of the water, with a pleasant reflection under him. Who knows what he is waiting for to photograph: we photographers know very well this situation. I am struck by the frame you have chosen, because it does not show the sky: the slope in the background looks like a sky and this makes the scene eye catching.
