I love your attention to scale in this image! The size of the church relative to its surroundings – as well as to the two tiny people I just noticed in the bottom right of the frame – really emphasizes the vastness of Iceland's landscape. It's a place that honestly never ceases to amaze me. I also like how the church roof is really the only spot of color in the photo; it gives a sense of how frigid Icelandic winters are. Great job!
I love the lighting of this image! The alternating layers of shadow and light really draw my eye down the corridor of the mosque and help me appreciate the building's size and form. The lighting is also working in an interesting way to create repeating shapes, which speaks to the importance of patterns and geometry in Islamic art and architecture. Great job!
Wow, incredible landscape! I love the minimalist approach you've taken and how you've isolated the orthodox church atop the rolling waves of fog. The building is both the one recognizable form in this image and its only source of color. The photo really creates a sense of place and paints the church as a significant institution in this location. Well done!

Each religion has developed its own architectural and decorative traditions, which are best exemplified in the places of worship and commemoration that have been constructed in its name. From cavernous cathedrals and mosques created at vast expense, to humble places of prayer that reflected the austere lives of the worshippers. I love the ethereal quality of this image. Even though I know what I'm looking at – the ceiling of a church nave – the architecture has a delightful abstraction to it and almost looks organic in form, like the legs of an insect. Your decision to overexpose the windows really helps with this and gives the whole photo a nice airiness. Well done!
