Religious Ceremonies and Their Celebration

Open Judging Results
Brief

This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.

So many of our celebrations are religious in nature, with ceremonies forming the epicentre around which everything else unfolds. Some are celebrations of the religion and its deities themselves, with parades through streets, pilgrimages made, and homage paid. Others mark stages of our lives - arriving in the world, coming of age, finding our life partner, and saying goodbye to loved ones. Images of both the religious ceremony, and the celebrations and gatherings that accompany them are welcomed in this contest.

Ranked Contests are a weekly chance to compete alongside photographers of a similar Leaderboard ranking. Three contests with the same theme run at one time - for photographers ranked 1-250; 251-1000; and 1001+. They open Saturday morning after that week’s leaderboard has been updated, and are open for 5 days. They are Premium Contests, Expert-judged, but with no Crowd vote, so are worth 3x the standard ranking points.
