Repetition and Order in Nature

March 2022

I love the variety of color shades in this photo, and the repeating lines are so fluid, it's like looking at liquid rock! The soft shadows add depth and the full frame composition is wonderful, very well seen and captured.

The detail in this photo of a simple dandelion is fabulous! My eye is drawn deep into the sharp center area, and the repetition of shape and line moving out from that point and filling the entire frame works beautifully. Excellent even lighting too.

The simplicity and detail in this image definitely made it a favorite. The contrast, intricate veining and strong curves are fabulous. It's obvious that much care was taken in choosing the lighting, point of view and composition to create this eye catching photograph. Bravo!.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.** In exploring the natural world, one finds order and repetition in many places, and on vastly different scales. From the elaborate structures of snowflakes, or delicately patterned insects, to the geological order of features like the Giant’s Causeway, or waves of huge crescent dunes marching across the desert.
