The minute I saw this photo I knew it would be in my top ten. I warmly enjoy the outcome of the way the photographer played with the concept of middle grey here - whether intended or not. In addition, the composition is nicely done as the positive space balances the negative space out quite nicely. This photo would not be as beautiful without the complimenting negative space the photographer chose.

This is not a photo of a brightly colored reptile drawing us into the photo because of its beautiful colors. It's a photo of a bland colored chameleon (in this species green reflects that the animal is relaxed in her/his surroundings). Then the photographer used negative/white space to draw our attention to the animal. That is, the main focus isn't that we have caught a photo of a colorful animal....but instead it is a photo of a Chameleon. Well done!
