Firstly, thankyou for all the beautiful entries for this competition. There was a really good mix of images highlighting ribbon and lace. I chose this image as my winner. I love the neutral colours and they truly are pretty pumps with a gorgeous lace overlay finished with a ribbon bow. The composition and lighting are very pleasing to the eye and there is a nice shallow depth of field thats really showing these pumps off. Congratulations on judge 1st place and thankyou for entering Ribbon and lace in colour.
What a great image showing how lace is actually made. All of those bobbins and pins and a lot of patience to be able to continue traditional lace making as a lot is done via machinery nowadays. I love how you have captured this. I spent quite a while viewing and pondering over this image and other entries similar to this. I could write an essay but I will close with thankyou for entering and congratulations in making my top10.
I find this a very mysterious portrait highlighting lace. It reminds me a little of the veiled vestal virgin statues. The lighting is perfect, just outlining the face and then falling off to show the lace. A beautiful image tha i am happy to include in my top 10. Congratulations on jusge3rd place and thankyou for entering.

The simplicity of this image caught my eye. A simple window dressed with lace panels. You have captured the lace nicely and they are nicely framed with the shutters. I like the neutral colours and like said before the simplicity. It has highlighted the lace well. Thankyou for entering and congratylations on making my top 10.

Please enter your colour photos of ribbon and lace. Your images should contain ribbon or lace or both. I am not looking for photos of shoe laces, but lace as in delicate fabric, for example filigree. How you present the ribbon and lace is your choice, whether it is a still life, part of clothing, etc. Please enter colour photos only and make the ribbon and lace the star of your image. I look forward to seeing your photos.
