Meet the judge
Timing is everything in this shot, and you have caught this beautifully here. The look on the Jay's face is classic, like asking what the Robin is actually doing, dancing around on the branch. I like the way that the lighting is on the branches by the birds and almost spotlighting them. Also, you can not help but smile when you look at this image. Well done :-)

In this contest I would like to see your best colour photos of a robin. The robin must be in a natural setting and not on a bird feeder etc. I would like to see images in colour only. I look forward to seeing your images.
What a lovely framed image. I love the way that the Robin is puffed up, fending off the cold, and the snow is on the branches. Rule of thirds is spot on, and I like the way that there is room for the Robin to breathe in the image. Lighting looks good, as does the OOF BG. Well done on a nice image :-)
This is a very good image, and I love the way that you have got the Robin to pop and stand out in the near white BG. The aperture at f/4 is just enough to get the Robin in focus, and the frost on the wire near the bird as well. This gives a great feel for the image, with it being cold. Great image and well done :-)
A difficult shot to take, being through branches, but you have done well in getting the shot here. I can't help but think that there is no way that the Robin will be able to eat the whole berry, but they always do. The white in the shot gives a nice feel of cold to the shot, and the light on the Robin makes it pop. Well done :-)
