Nice long lens shot, handheld, at 1/2500th, brings the subjects right into view, with all of them seemingly looking into the lens. I like seeing the crowd of viewing spectators in the background who are wearing colourful clothes which helps separate them from the action in the foreground.

**This contest is open to photographers ranked between 1 and 250 in this week’s Leaderboard.** In the beginning, anthropologists tell us, we ran to chase animals for food. Running until our prey became too exhausted to continue. Nowadays, whilst many of us forget how to run once we’ve left the playground behind, for those known simply as ‘runners’, the practise is very much alive and well. They run around cities, up mountains, across deserts, enjoying the Runner’s High, and doing what our bodies were built to do.

I had a question and was intrigued about this image. What is creating the mist? I like the silhouetted person jumping and running in the mist, with the impressive historic building providing balance and grounding. The wet flooring reflects beautifully and scene above it.

This image is all about the feeling that crisp, winter's mornings bring. The sunrise just peeps out from behind the horizon. The brief is 'running' and this little girl looks to be running in excitedness, on such a glorious frosty morning. A fabulous memory caught.
