Take a look at the <a href="https://www.photocrowd.com/leaderboard/">leaderboard</a> for more information on Photocrowd rankings.** Since time immemorial, our most ancient ancestors have built with, travelled across and gazed out across sands - one of the planets most formidable and dramatic natural landscapes. Dunes and beaches shift and change with tides and winds, and this very feature can make sandy locations difficult to shoot in; so be sure to check the weather beforehand, and always have something to clean your lens with when necessary. Alternatively, use your imagination and photograph 'Sand' outside its natural environment and in any way you choose.
