Scotland in Black and White

Firstly, I would like to thank you for entering my competition with such a wonderful image. Having recently returned from my first trip to Skye, I think that your image captures the magnificence of the Quiraing perfectly! Your image captures the magnificence of the landscape, emphasised with the sky being both sunny and threatening at the same time.

Firstly, thank you for entering my competition. When I set up this competition, I was hoping to see some great landscape images of the Scottish highlands, lochs and rugged coastline. Your image stood out in capturing the magnificence of the structure of the two bridges crossing the firth of Forth, the use of long exposure makes the image stand out, the three ships under the arch of the rail bridge is the icing on the cake!

Firstly, thank you for entering my competition. When I set it up with the theme of Scotland, my intention was to to see and score highly landscape images but this image captures the character of the people of Edinburgh perfectly. Great street photography!

What I love about this image is the atmosphere it gives of misty mornings that are frequently found in Scotland, you have captured the atmosphere perfectly. The image is suited to black and white, I don't believe that it would have the same impact in colour.
