Cromer Pier has featured very much as a subject in this competition and rightly so as it is a very photogenic. There is a strong lead in down the pathway then round to the pier and buildings. The timing of the photograph and exposure is spot on to capture both the artificial lighting, the natural light falling on the scene but retaining detail in the interesting sky. One for the local Tourist Board!

This view along a pier has been done many times before but this is a well executed example. The two side rails lead us into the picture and force our attention onto the central perfect alignment of the benches, lamp and the background small building. The dawn light has brought the lamp to life. The long exposure has smoothed out the see but retained interesting detail in the sky. Well seen and executed!
A very well captured sunset, full of interest and mood. The exposure is spot on to capture the dying light and create the silhoutte. The wind turbines fading into the sunset add depth and interest. I feel it would have been a stronger composition if the two figures on the right had not been quite so tight to the edge but nothing to be done about that! I personally dislike watermarks. Notwithstanding the usual reasons the author of photographs on this platform should be anonymous to the judge.
The emphasising of the yellow structures of the pier buildings by including the gull with its yellow beak in the foreground lifts this image to a whole new level. The bird is compositionally well placed and creates layering in the image. The fence leads from the base of the picture to the gull then continues to the pier then back in a compositional S curve. One slight crit would be the overlap of the gull's head with the pier. It may have been possible to avoid that with a slightly higher or lower viewpoint. Well seen and processed!
A stunnung image. You must have been either very patient or very lucky to get the murmaration in the perfect position avoiding overlapping the pier buildings. The backlighting on the lower starlings wings is magical. It is also commendable that your choice of viewpoint has kept the offing in view above the pier. Well done!
