I love this photo. The lines of the skewed horizon convey a kind of distress. There is an absurd conflict between the poor man in the corner and the request above him to "Talk to us about a mortgage." The business man comes down to the level of the poor man and listens to his story. The world passes by unnoticed as a reflection in the window.

No one seems to notice the two young boys on rollerblades. You cannot tell if the taller boy is reaching out for help or if he is looking to help the smaller boy. Either way, it's an engaging photo. The black and white color palette was a good choice for this one.

I love the composition of this winter wonderland photo. The obscured faces allow me to put myself in the position of the man and one of my children in the sled. What a great example of sacrifice for a child. The lack of footprints and the large pack tell a story that the man traveled some ways for this child..

The colors and movement in this photo are striking. You can feel the men straining to push the gleaming car.

The building and car convey great wealth. The message is striking to me - that even people driving supercars can suffer and need help. You also get a sense of detached interest and judgement from the spectators in the background.

This image tells a story. Someone clearly sacrificed to get this elderly woman to the ocean she loves. You can imagine her tenderly removing the old woman's shoes. The obscured faces allow the onlooker to take the place of the woman in the blue sweater. Nice composition.

The wheat and the stone wall frame the moment beautifully. There is a kind of circular connection between the goat and the girl that captivates me. And the subjects are so adorable that it is impossible to keep this photo out of the top three. I take the message from it that even the injured and incomplete have something to give.

I love the colors, the interesting lines, and the story behind this image. There is so much movement in the man in the foreground. The interplay between the shades of blue and brown really draw me in. And what sacrifice to expose himself to toxic products to help his community!

The composition and story of this photo interest me. The yellow taxi, red ornaments and shadowy figure seem to represent the difficulties in this woman's life. They conflict with the grey and browns in the foreground. Somehow the main character finds happiness in her troubles. There is something in the woman's expression that gives me hope.

Beautiful composition, clarity, and colors. The background gives the image a dream-like quality. The leaves around the squirrel also frame the animal and make him appear magical. The walnut seems to connect the girl and squirrel somehow - with the curvature of her arm continuing up through the squirrel's tail.

The lighting and composition of this photo are just superb - the light reflecting off of the car in the foreground particularly.. The old wet snow, gray skies, and the granite buildings really complement each other. The window and "head in the clouds" nicely frame the man in need and many of the lines in the image lead to him. It's an unexpected and wonderfully captured moment and an interesting story.
