Great contest!

The colors in this photograph on their own create this neo-noir feel for the picture in a style that is not commonly seen and I can say that I really love the striking creativity in that. This picture expresses pain and simply that sense of pain with the shifting colors of red and blue mixing within it to perhaps express itself in a symbolic way as well. Overall a fantastic piece that meets the task of this contest in tasteful artistic form.

This type of unstaged photography captures the pain of this boy in the moment perfectly and communicates to the audience the gravity of the situation that the subject finds himself in. You have done a beautiful job displaying such an unpleasant moment and capturing more than the niceties of the sport.

This picture does an excellent job of separating the subject from the background and the clarity within it emphasizes the struggle that he is going through within the picture. Excellent job and fantastic capture of such a high speed event!

In any portrait, the eyes are arguably one of the most important aspects of it, and in this photograph you have captured the pained expressions of someone who has seen more than their fair share of hurt. Excellent focus and crisp details on the two model's faces behind the out of focus barbed wire create a hauntingly beautiful picture of the pained face of those suffering.

Some photos are taken for the purpose of raising questions behind what they stand for, and this photograph does that job in hauntingly excellent fashion. Why is the woman carrying the bear? What does it mean to her? What happened to her? Quality photographs like this create those kind of questions and envelop the reader, and I commend you for that.

The face of the man in this photo is one of someone who has seen more than countless others around him, and in this portraiture of him you capture that sense of pained emotion he has over his experiences and surroundings, over his sacrifices, successes and mistakes. Excellent detail and focus in this picture with even the bokeh created faintly in the background and the tasteful coloring of the ANZAC pin that he is wearing. Excellent job.

Depression is something which few can every truly describe or depict correctly, and you have done an amazing job of representing that sense of pain within this photograph. Excellent use of the framing of the picture as if within a keyhole and again fantastic work.

This picture is difficult for me from my own experiences with this sort of facilities. You have captured a beautiful but heart-breaking photograph in which you take a still of a woman beautifully that simultaneously shows the agonizing ordeal that she suffers throughout everyday. I commend you for the picture both personally and artistically, and I urge you to keep telling these stories, because few others will.

This picture creates as many questions with its beauty as people it amazes. It calls the viewer to question who is the man in the photograph, and what does he mean to the woman? Through an excellent use of a low depth of field and focusing in on the women's face, it allows for the eyes of the viewer to drift on to the picture in her hands, and create more questions than answers. Fantastic work.

The detail of this picture captures the biker and his ride as he struggles and is a perfect example of one of the pictures that I was looking for in this contest. It shows the pain that he experiences and the weight he has to carry. Excellent job

This picture seems deceptively simple but I really appreciate how it seems to represent more than what is presented in the photograph. It draws the question as to what led the subject to be in this cast and who are the flowers from? A simply excellent photograph.

The impeccable timing of this picture is extremely impressive, capturing the moment before the biker wipes out on the ground and showing the audience the situation that he will find himself in just seconds later. Fantastic work especially using a 1/800 shutter speed for this picture.

The singular subject's colors of grey and white contrasted against the black background provide an excellent stage to express the stress and pain on the face of the model, with the smudged mascara emphasizing her condition. Excellent portrayal of what was asked in this prompt and a very tasteful use of nudity in this as well, as it does not distract or detract from the piece whatsoever. Thank you for submitting this!

This picture conveys a sense of urgency as the Italian Red Cross member carries what appears to be a child against the blurred background of what looks like an urban area, leading the reader to wonder what has happened and inspiring interest in the audience. Excellent example of photojournalism.
