I want to emphasise this image as travel narrative, the lighting is strong and moulded well against your models. To further the theme of silhouette, your models are with drinks and seem very much in conversation and not aware of the camera. This is a skill adapted by yourself which is good for natural capturing, continue developing these skills!
I really love how delicate this portrait and the sense of calm it brings to the eye. This is a tremendous entry under the theme of silhouette, you’ve balanced the lighting so well that it doesn’t over expose your model's features and the main emphasis of narrative of the sensitivity of pregnancy. Gentle, effective and moving. Great job!
I commend your high production use for the result of this image, studio lights, professional model and set design to amplify the contest's silhouette theme. Well done, it’s very theatrical and could be experimented further in a video format, I suggest collaborating with a dance team and feature them in a video in this very style!
Really fun portrait that focuses on both stillness and movement, you’ve captured your model at a good angle where her face is in focus and recognisable in a wave of motion blur with flying locks of hair. For a future shoot, I would suggest shooting this style on black & white film with studio lighting, the quality would be incredible.
Great landscape and studio set up, I’d be interested to know if you used flash or continuous lighting in this session. I like the tones used here, and thank you for mentioning the production details behind this portrait. I would think about adding another light source to pick up on the hair detail in the future. Nice!
This image is so reminiscent of the great work of Francesca Woodman, using shadow as a form of play within landscape and photography, but still showing a strong silhouette. I’m happy you’ve kept the architecture to a minimum amount of detail, and capturing this on an iphone 6. I’d suggest recapturing this on black & white film to further your creativity!
I’ve chosen this image to review to further commend your use of layers and balance of light in this portrait as a landscape. There is so much detail in this, but it doesn’t overcrowd the overall purpose of the image. I feel the hands really connect the view to the portrait, it gives an openness to the visuals.
Thank you for entering this contest! I found your image very reminiscent of 1980s beauty advertising, your model is adorning classic film noir make - up with the iconic red lip. Why this references period advertising is how you’ve left a great amount of space for text from said advertiser. The silhouette is marked out very well, showing your models’ features subtly. Good job!

This is a contest for people portraits, not animals. SIlhouettes offer an opportunity to focus on the outline, the shape of a subject, and in portraiture that means the shape of the whole body for full length portraiture, or if a bust portrait then often a side-on portrait that shows the contours of the face. Silhouettes are traditionally shot such that the subject is very dark, and the background lighting accentuates that, either by being correctly exposed, over-exposed, or through some clever lighting of the subject in the case of the header image for the contest.

I’m drawn to this image as the main narrative is not captured, we are focused on perhaps the male is looking with the female presenting silhouette looms behind, leaving her shadow in his and our view. We as an audience are involved, but not directly, with this relationship. Clever suggestive narrative and take on this contest!
