This contest is open to photographers ranked between 251 and 1000 in this week’s Leaderboard.
Big, iconic architecture might get all the headlines, but back in the real world the majority of buildings being built are much smaller, and the efforts of the architects and construction firms responsible are often unsung. But all their skills are in evidence when a building on a small scale successfully achieves everything required of its larger cousin, just within a reduced volume. And as questions of energy usage, land availability and construction costs become ever more important, smaller buildings seem to provide a lot of the answers. Acceptable images can be of any small building, from a house, to a folly, to public buildings and beyond, and can be buildings of any age.
Ranked Contests are a weekly chance to compete alongside photographers of a similar Leaderboard ranking. Three contests with the same theme run at one time - for photographers ranked 1-250; 251-1000; and 1001+. They open Saturday morning after that week’s leaderboard has been updated, and are open for 5 days. They are Premium Contests, Expert-judged, but with no Crowd vote, so are worth 3x the standard ranking points.
This contest is expert judged only with no rating by the crowd. You will be able to find out how you did when the judging or rating period has closed.
