This is a very charming photograph of a beautiful, classic scene. This is the kind of image that people have in mind when they dream of traveling and seeing the world. The composition is very strong, with the buildings slowly descending down the street and the cyclist set off to the right hand side of the image. The pop of yellow really brings the image to life and helps make this photo a joy to look at. This photo makes me want to get out and see the world!
This is a very exciting image. There's a lot of intensity in the scene and the heavy rain adds a lot of drama to the already intense animal fighting. The colours of the umbrellas and ponchos in the background are another nice touch. I think if the photographer had waited for the animals to turn around so we could see their faces better (rather than their backsides) this could have been a great capture. Also, it feels like the image may have been over-sharpened just a bit.
This image has a lot of potential as a successful portrait. The composition is well considered and it has a nice soft range of tones. I think the main problem is that the subject's face is in too much shadow. Perhaps the photographer could have waited for the subject to turn and face the light, or could have asked the subject to reposition herself to where her face was more illuminated. Also, it would help if the subject was looking into the lens.
I really like the idea of this image. The verticality of the image is very striking and the graphic text at the bottom of the image really anchors it well. It also has a really nice colour palette that is warm and inviting. I think it could've been improved if the photographer took another step back and zoomed out just a bit. The composition feels a little tight and could use some more breathing room. Also, if the photographer had waited till there were more people on the sidewalk that could've made it more interesting as well.
This is a very soft and delicate portrait of a young boy deep in thought. It is a great capture as a candid moment and is a respectful, contemplative image. The timing of the capture is perfect and the composition with the profile of the hat and face works very well. I think what really helps the image is the fantastic colour palette - the clothes, the skin tones and the background are all soft shades of beige that play off each other very nicely making the image very pleasing to look at.
I think this is a very fun and powerful image. I like how it blends the colourful textiles of the culture with the rugged natural landscape, which really gives the viewer a strong impression of this part of the world. The composition is very well seen, giving the image a strong depth that draws the viewers eyes in as the rows of the rugs point towards the centre where the mountain peak is. The scene is inviting and makes one wish to go and see it in person.
This is a very pleasing image with a great, timeless quality to it. The composition and low positioning of the camera really serves to dignify this man on the horse. I love how he is surrounded by the soft, gray tones of the sky and his posture is almost heroic – like a champion returning from the battlefield. Sometimes centering the subject is the best way to go and I think this photo proves that point well as the horse and rider are headed directly into the lens. Very striking capture.
This is a fantastic portrait. The composition is great, the focus is sharp and the bokeh is rich, but more importantly the photographer has captured a genuine, emotional glance from the subject. You can tell that the subject is relaxed and comfortable with her portrait being taken, and her expression has a timeless quality that keeps the image interesting no matter how many times you look at it. Additionally, the colour correction and processing of the image is very tastefully done.
This is a very powerful and unique image. I really enjoy the wide aspect ratio that suits the composition so well. The tones are soft and muted, lending an understated poise to this scene. The timing is excellent, with all the horses lined up and the two men staring straight into the camera. There is a very timeless quality to this image, it's almost unclear what era it was captured in and I think that really heightens the elegance and sophistication of this photo.
There is a lot of potential in this photograph. It is a beautiful, empty street with a solo figure walking down the sidewalk in evening light. It is very well composed with straight vertical lines. The main problem is that the focus is a bit too soft and it's hard to make out the subject matter in the distance. Perhaps there wasn't enough light to get a crisp image at this time. If that's the case then positioning the camera on a tripod to get a more steady, long exposure could've helped to make a more striking image.
Who doesn't love a good road? There is something about an endless stretch of highway that gets me every time – it inspires a real sense of freedom, adventure and limitless possibilities. The symmetrical, dead-centre composition of this image really works well and takes the eye in. It's also intriguing how many distinct layers of the landscape are stacked one upon the other, from the plain to the hills from clouds to the blue sky. This is an inspiring travel image.

There is a great sense of adventure and exploration in this image. I mean, who wouldn't want to be trekking this amazing landscape right now! The composition is lovely, with the horseman anchoring the lower left of the frame allowing the rest of the landscape to freely sprawl out to the horizon. I can smell the fresh air in this photo, and I can hear the sound of the horses hooves as they kick up the dirt of the trail.
I think there is a lot of potential in this scene. It looks like it was taken in a beautiful setting under a gorgeous sunset or sunrise conditions, and the tones of the landscape are very pleasing to the eye. I think the back of the man that is half cropped is really hurting the overall composition, distracting from the beauty of the scene. Perhaps if the photo was shot in landscape format, rather than portrait, and focused on the size of the small figures in the distance when compared with the vastness of the landscape then it could be a successful image.
This is a gorgeous image that takes a simple evening soccer match and elevates it to the level of art. The lighting is beautiful and the movement of the figures makes the photo come to light. The backlighting adds drama and intensity to an already fast paced subject. I think it would help if there was a little more separation between the silhouettes, but that's being really picky. Overall this is a great photo that is very fun to look at.
