Wow! What a shot. Love that you have captured a special moment here with both the babies fighting for the food. Looks like one is on the back of the other and it makes you do a double take. I like the clean BG in this image, not to distract from the birds. Focus is sharp and lighting looks great. Well done on taking First Place :-)
Very nice angle that you have here and I like that you have the babies head sticking out of the nest. The food in the beak of the adult is a nice touch. I like the clean BG in this shot and the composition. Lighting looks good and it really shows off the feathers of the bird. Well done on a great image :-)
It's all mine and you're not having any. You can imagine the Starling on the left saying that as the other comes in to land. This is typical Starlings fighting over the food in the garden, and you have caught a good moment here. Lighting and focus look great, and well done on getting everything in with no clipping. Also, the shot shows off the amazing colours and marking on the birds. Well done on a great image :-)
Meet the judge
Give me a moment to get a scarf and woolly hat before I start writing this review, as this image looks cold. I love the pose that you have on this bird, and the framing to get the stump/fence post in as well to show the snow is a nice touch. The snow in the air is good and adds more feel to the shot. Feathers and colours are shown nicely here and its a change to see them a little more muted than normal, due to the snow and lighting. Well done on a nice shot :-)

Looks like the baby is going to swallow the adult! LOL! Spot on focus and amazing light in this image, that show off the marking of the bird. I like the clean BG and the interesting log/branch. Don't know if you're like me, but I'm always bringing bits and pieces home to set up in the garden for a shot. Well done on a nice shot :-)
I like the muted colours of this image. You can definitely tell that it is Winter time, as it looks cold. I like that the shot is zoomed out a little as well. It still shows the Starling, but it just gives it a little more context that the bird is not a bit bird, as you have the tree in the shot as well. Focus on the bird looks good and although the highlights are a little bright, I think this adds to the image. Well done on a nice shot :-)
There were a couple like this in the competition, but this one really stood out to me with the golden colour in the BG of this shot, as well as the amazing feathers and colours in this shot. The orange that the bird is sitting on is nice as well, as I think that it is a little different than the normal branch/log. Well done on a great image :-)

In this contest I would like to see your best colour photos of starlings. More than one bird can be in the image, but there must be a starling in the frame as the main focus of the shot. Images in colour only please.
