This image is beautifully crisp - which is a real challenge with such tiny, fast animals. I really like the unusual angles in the shot, with the stoat's long body almost moulding to the curve of the tree branch. I also think the bright background colours pop and draw focus to the subject.

This image for me is a perfect example of when less is more. The light and shadows help create a simple contrast so that the white ermine doesn't get lost in the pure white snow. I love the crop and how the eye follows the line of the long shadow to the little weasel. Simplicity at it's finest.

This is such an adorable capture and brings a real smile to my face. I really like the framing of the head just popping out from behind the tree and the little hint of tooth! Members of the weasel family are notoriously quick so this image must have taken lots of patience.

This is an incredible action shot. Capturing one weasel takes patience - capturing two is really impressive. I love that there's a little bit of foliage to the left so you can see their tiny size and how the weasel on the right is on a slight incline so you can feel the power struggle.

This shot really stood out for me. I love the colour palette and the feel that when the sun sets/before it rises that wildlife like to come out and play too. I really enjoy the way the swing set emphasises scale here and puts a spotlight on just how tiny the little weasel is.

For this contest I would love to see your photos of stoats and weasels. Images can be of stoats and weasels in the wild or in wildlife centres or zoos. These animals are fast-moving, so I will be looking for brilliantly timed captures that shine a light on the personality of these cute creatures.
