Great contest!

Thank you for entering the competition. I love the colours in this shot. The light is perfect in showcasing these flowers. They are clearly photographed in their natural environment. The image easily transports my mind to a sunny summers day in the garden.

Thank you for entering the contest. This is a beautiful image and a worthy winner. It is reminiscent of some of the work of the artist Gustav Klimt, showing a full frame of colourful wildflowers. The Bee hives at the centre enhance the shot even further. The colour balance is lovely, with no sign of over-processing.

Thank you for entering the contest. I know from experience just how difficult it can be to photograph this colour in sunshine. You have done a great job here. The colour and definition on petals is captured beautifully. The choice of depth of field and the main bloom to the side really works.

Thank you for entering the contest. This is a stunning shot, transporting the viewer straight into summer. The focus, light and balance of colour, work beautifully. The post processing enhances the photograph perfectly, rather than detracting by over doing it, as is sadly often the case. I would be very happy having this on my wall.

As summer begins to fade, and before we move into the rich colours of autumn, let’s celebrate the passing season with photographs of summer flowers. Entries can be shots of a single bloom or a group of flowers. Please confine photos to flowers in their natural environment, so none in vases indoors - flowers in pots outside is fine. Also no black and white shots, as flowers give us wonderful colours. Natural looking shots without over-amplified colour are preferred. Please score any shots not complying to this as ‘not on brief’.
